Not now!I try to force myself not to teleport. Will needs me.

When I open my eyes again, I’m still holding onto Will’s hand, but the two of us are standing in front of Will’s house.

Will blinks a few times and looks at me. “How—?”

How is a good question. One I don’t have the answer for.

“Henley, did you just light us onfire?” Will asks.

I nod.

“You don’t look surprised.” His brown eyes study me carefully. “And we’re at my house. How did we even get here? Andhowdid it not burn? Both of us were engulfed in flames.”

I shrug one shoulder. “I don’t know.”

Will takes a step closer to me. “Henley, was that the first time it’s happened?”

I shake my head.

“Okay.” He lets out a breath. “So, you can teleport.”

“I guess,” I say because I guess that is what I did. One second, we were on the side of a cliff, the next, we were here.

“And there is fire involved.”

“Does that mean I’m an elemental?” I worry my bottom lip between my teeth.

“No.” He furrows his brows, studying me carefully. “I can still see the flames in your eyes. I’ve never seen anything like it before. Not even elementals or dragon shifters can—” His voice abruptly cuts off. “You know something that you’re not telling us.”

I nod.

“Show me,” he demands.

Should I?

Will hates me already. Showing him won’t change anything. And maybe it would be nice not to keep the secret to myself anymore.

With my eyes on him, I will my wings to appear. Will gasps, his eyes wide as he looks behind me.

“It wasn’t a dragon, was it?” he asks with awe in his voice.

I shake my head.

He takes a step closer, hesitantly reaching a hand out. He touches my wing so gently.

“They’re soft.” He studies my black wings carefully, then turns to face me. “Henley, I haveno ideawhat you are. This isn’t normal. Nobody in the supernatural community has wings, not unless they’re shifted. And the fire and teleportation—I’ve never heard of that before. Whatever you are, it’s a mystery to me.”

My heart soars.

Does that mean I won’t be sent away? Because they don’t even knowwhereto send me. Maybe I can stay here. With the pack. With Parker…

“You won’t tell anybody, will you?” I look up at him through my lashes.

“You mean Parker doesn’t know?” Will raises an eyebrow.

I shake my head.

He studies me before responding. “You should tell him. I don’t think this is something we should keep from him.”
