Luke shook his head. “We need all the money we have to buy more cattle.”

“He won’t charge you. Besides, you two are my mates, and I want to help. I don’t know what you think of the Grangers, but our family sticks together.”

Luke wished he’d grown up in that kind of environment. “Then thank you.”

“Maybe your cousin can try to find Mom,” Ryan said.

“No,” Luke said. “She had a chance to come back but never did.”

“She wouldn’t have wanted to return while Dad was alive. I bet she doesn’t even know he was killed,” Ryan said.

Luke lifted a hand. “Let’s worry about one thing at a time.”

“What’s your mom’s name?” Malia asked. “Someone at the hospital might know her if she was in the ER enough times.”

“Tara Williams Lattimore,” Ryan spit out.

“You have no self-control,”Luke telepathed.

“That’s true when I’m anywhere near Malia.”

Luke didn’t either. He never talked about his father, and yet with Malia, she seemed to draw information out of him.

It wasn’t long before they’d polished off the meal. Luke stood. “I’ll help clean up.”

“Thank you.”

Ryan also got up. “Me too.”

Between the three of them, they had the table cleared and the dishes washed, dried, and put away in no time.

“Thanks again for dinner,” Luke said.

“You’re welcome.”

When Ryan stepped behind Malia and wrapped his arms around her, a quick blast of jealousy shot through Luke, an emotion that was totally foreign to him. Luke half-expected her to tell Ryan she wasn’t ready to be with him, but she shocked Luke when she spun around, wrapped her arms around Ryan’s neck and kissed him.

The intimate act caused Luke’s cock to harden, and she wasn’t even looking at or touching him. If this was what having a mate was all about, he didn’t want part of it.

“Come on, Ryan. We should go.”

His brother waved him off.“You go. I need to stay here. What our mate is doing to my mind and body is out of this world.”

Luke was well aware what Malia could do his state of mind. Not able to watch without grabbing her out of his brother’s arms and ravish her himself, he spun around.

Damn. His jacket was in one of the bedrooms. “I hate to interrupt, but I need my coat.”

Malia broke the kiss. “Please stay.”

“Why? So I can watch you two make out?”

“I can kiss both of you.”

His world spun. Maybe one more taste would help him get through these next few days of trying to find who drove their ranch into possible ruin.

“Have you ever been with two men before?”

“No, but I’m not a virgin.”
