“I miss you old man.” Erika places her hand on my back drawing my attention to her.

“Life asked Death, why do people love me but hate you?' Death responded 'Because you are a beautiful lie and I am the painful truth.’ Death is not something to be feared Royal, it is inevitable. That is why life is the greatest gift because you only get one life on Earth but eternity in the afterlife with your loved ones.” I gently cup her cheek and smirk when she nestles into my hold.

“I don’t fear death, Sirena, I am death and relish in the power it gives me when I’m the one making the decision on who lives and dies.” I expect to see disgust or some form of fear in her gaze but all I see is understanding.

“That’s why you call yourselves the Memento Mori, you four are the bringers of death.”

“Yes.”

“You’re only twenty years old and have already taken more lives than men double your age.” I drop my hold on her when I hear the others enter the room.

“And I will continue to take more. This is the life I chose to live, make no mistake, Erika. I am going to kill your fiance and your uncle and feel nothing aside from the need to bury my cock inside your sweet pussy to celebrate my victory.” Longing and lust shines in her eyes, fuck, this girl was made for my dark soul.

“We doing this or what?” Sin snaps from the doorway, I keep my gaze on Erika as I answer.

“Show me where you hid your soon-to-be-dead fiance's mother.” The little devil smirks and leads the way. The three of us trail after her as she takes us to the attic, I didn't even know this house had one. The moment she opens the door that leads to the attic I cover my nose, it reeks of shit and piss. Unlike me and my cousins Erika doesn’t cover her nose as she climbs the stairs, she flicks a switch and then the bright light illuminates the room. Sitting there on an old worn chair with her hands, legs and waist tied up is Chance’s mother, Margaret. Erika saunters over to her and tears the duct tape from her mouth, not only did she tape her mouth she also shoved a… she pulls out a fucking sock from her mouth.

“Just in case the tape came off.” She says as she drops the sock to the floor, I can’t stop staring at her in wonder. This fucking woman is not what I expected her to be that’s for fucking sure!

“My son is… going to kill you.” The old hag spits out, Erika grips her chin in a punishing hold that has the woman wincing as she forces her face to hers.

“He’s going to die and it’s your fault.” The woman splutters but Erika doesn’t give her a chance to speak. “You raised a sorry ass excuse of a man, if you had raised him right we wouldn’t be taking you with us to watch him die.” Margaret tries to argue but Erika just continues to taunt her, Havoc leans in close and speaks in a hushed tone so only Sin and I can hear.

“Either you fucked the devil into her or she was always this fucked up.” A dark chuckle escapes me.

“Nah, I just fed the dormant monster inside her that thirsts for blood like I do.”

ERIKA

Margaret squealed when I tied her up and locked her in the lavatory of the private plane Royal had waiting for us, I’ve never been to the Hamptons so I’m actually excited to go. For years I have felt trapped and caged, forced to be a puppet and live my life by someone’s rules. I’m twenty-two years old and this is the first time I have felt like I’m actually living. I never want this feeling to end but I know it will and I’m okay with that but I don’t want her to be the one to end it, I want it to be him. It seems fitting, he woke me from a decade long slumber and breathed life back into me. I want his face to be the last thing I see before I join my parents in the afterlife.

Royal stands from his seat across the aisle and moves to the back of the plane where there is a bedroom and full bath. If his cousins weren’t here I may have been tempted to follow after him and join the mile high club.

“I can see the crazy in your eyes.” I look across from me to see Havoc studying me.

“And I can see the same in yours except unlike you, I don’t hide from mine.” I taunt, his eyes crinkle at the corners.

“Want to know something I worked out that you didn’t?” I quirk a brow enticing him to continue. “You only speak when Royal is around, if he isn’t near you turn back to being mute.” My brows bunch as I mull over his words.

“I… I mean…”

“Stop talking to the bitch.” Chanel snaps from her seat across the aisle near where Royal sat.

“This is an A and B conversation so C your way out of it before D jumps over E and fucks you up like a G.” I choke on air, Havoc shoots me a wink while Chanel mutters about how both he and Royal are out of their minds for acknowledging me. I tune her out and focus back on Havoc, I see it in the way he carries himself. He’s used to being the twin everyone passes over, he lives in his brother's shadow not by choice but because it’s easier than dealing with his brother’s annoyance.

For the next hour until we land Havoc and I spend it talking about the most mundane crap, it feels weird to talk so much but also freeing. I think I enjoyed not being able to communicate so my uncle couldn’t use me more than he already did. Once we touch down in the Hamptons Royal comes to stand beside my seat and offers me his hand, I take it with my good hand, The other still fucking burns from having my nails ripped off. I should hate Havoc and Chanel for what they did but honestly, I don’t. If I was in their position I would have done the same thing to protect my family.

Two blacked out SUVs idle on the tarmac for us with six men dressed in tactical gear standing there, Chanel orders two of them to go and retrieve Margaret from the plane. Havoc, Royal, Chanel and I all climb into the SUV at the front with one of the men jumping in to drive. Chanel rides shotgun while I sit in the middle of the two hulking men, when the car takes off I hiss as we hit a pothole and Havoc knocks my shoulder. Every turn or bump in the road I find myself flinching or trying to maneuver myself so he stops knocking my wound. As we round another corner he slams into me and I whimper, unable to hold it back.

“For fuck sakes, Havoc.” Royal growls as he grabs me and hauls me onto his lap.

“I can’t help it!” Havoc defends, I turn to him and try to smile comfortingly.

“It’s okay, I’m sorry.” I say.

“The one fucking time I miss the shot.” I hear Chanel mutter from the front, I am getting real fucking tired of her shit and sooner or later I am about to tear into her. Royal wraps his arms around my waist gently and draws me back against him, I nestle into him and soak up his warmth. I curl up on his lap and trace a pattern with my finger on the side of his neck smiling to myself when he shivers, the big brute is ticklish.

“Get some sleep, we got a three hour drive.” He whispers, I say nothing as I lean forward and place a kiss to his neck. A shiver rolls through me when he growls and his hold on me tightens, his eye bore into mine when I pull back. “Do that shit again and we’ll be making a pit stop.” I can’t stop the laughter that bubbles out of me, he subtly jerks his hips and my eyes widen when I feel his hard cock.
