“I never wanted it to be like this.”
I scoff. “Then you shouldn’t have fucking blackmailed me!” I shout.
“I had no fucking choice, Chanel. This is my job, I didn’t know you were going to be there that day.” The day he is referring to is the day at the airfield where Emilio took Chaos, Connor is the reason i missed the kill shot on Erika.
“You could have let me go.” I whisper, a whoosh of air escapes him and he drops his gaze to the ground.
“I couldn’t do that.”
I push away all the hurt and latch onto my anger. “Just tell me what you want.”
“I need to know where Chance is.”
I keep my face blank as I answer. “I don’t know where he is.”
“Don’t lie to me, Sin.” He growls.
“Fuck you, I have no idea where that bastard is. I gave you the details of the raid tonight, you got the Albanians, that was the deal.” A regretful look crosses his features, I shake my head as betrayal burns through my veins. “You’re not letting me go, are you?” He tries to reach for me but I step back shaking my head. “You fucking lied to me. This is my life, Connor. If they find out what’s happening, I’m dead. Blood or not they will kill me!”
His eyes darken. “I’ll never let anyone hurt you, Chanel.” He clips out.
I hold his gaze and drop my mask allowing him to see for the first time the pain he caused me, I wasn’t always this heartless bitch. Connor made me who I am today.
“You already did.” I whisper, a bang sounds out and then I spin around toward the way I came with our guns in the air, the second the person steps into the light my blood turns to ice.
“Hands up!” Connor shouts, I snap out of it and leap in front of Connor, his eyes widened. “What the fuck are you doing?” He yells.
“Put the fucking gun down.” I plead.
“What? Do you know that guy?”
A whoosh of air escapes me as I nod. “Yes.” I breathe out.
“Who the fuck is he?” Connor demands.
“His name is Vincent Murelo and he’s, my father.” Connor’s eyes narrow as I feel my dad come up behind me, “Please.” I plead, he hesitates for a second before lowering his gun.
“Chanel–.”
“Just go, Connor.” The look in my eyes tells him all he needs to know, I have no idea if my dad is alone or if the others are with him, Connor grasps that concept and is smart enough to take my queue. He never turns his back to us as he makes his way back to his car, dad and I say nothing as we watch Connor drive away, when his taillights disappear dad grips my shoulders and spins me around to face him. I avert my gaze not wanting to see the look in his eyes.
“Chanel.” The don’t fuck with me tone of his voice has me slowly turning back to face him, the look in his brown eyes flays me. Disappointment, unease and worry shines stares back at me.
“I don’t want to hear it.” I growl as I pull out of his hold and try to head back to the car but he blocks my path.
“Who the fuck was that?”
“No one.” I shout.
“Bullshit Chanel, he reeked like a fed, you know what will happen–.”
“I didn’t have a choice!” I scream in frustration.
“You always have a choice.” He shouts just as loud.
“No, I didn’t.”
“Explain this to me now.” The deathly calm tone of his voice has me tensing. “Now!”
