“You’re too good of a guy,” she whispers against my lips. “I wish we had more time together like this before you knocked me up.”
“Knocking you up is a bonus to have you forever, Kelsie.” I kiss her tenderly and lift her leg for better access to rub her clit.
“You can’t promise forever.”
“I can when you’re all I’ve ever wanted.” I continue my slow pace and rub her until the orgasm she needs builds and leaves her shaking.
“You’re beginning to make me believe that I really mean so much to you.” Kelsie takes my arm between her breasts and holds me for a few moments in silence.
“You do, baby girl.” I kiss her head and tighten my arms around her. “I’ll spend every damn day proving how much I want to spend my life with you.” I render her quiet and we cuddle in comfortable silence.
“I don’t want to ruin the moment, but I need to pee.” She sighs in frustration.
“That’s probably a smart idea. It’s odd they never show bathroom breaks in the movies.” I chuckle and lift my arm.
“Nor did they teach it in sex-ed in high school.” She rolls eyes, annoyed. “That first UTI was brutal. I thought Jake gave me an STD junior year.”
“Don’t talk about another guy’s hands on you.” Jealousy washes over me. “Unless you want me taking you into the shower and branding your body with mine.”
She pauses for a moment, assessing how serious I am about my statement. Kelsie has possessed me in ways I had never fathomed. I watch another layer of her guard drop as a daring smirk brings life to her dimples. Dammit, if she doesn’t test me, I might just fuck her against the shower wall anyway. She turns and walks into her on-suite. My stomach shouldn’t drop as I hear the lock click, but it sends a clear signal not to intrude. I’ll take our last hour together as a small win closer to gaining her trust and proving myself to her. The door opens as Kelsie as her mischievous grin draws me in. I sit up and run a hand through my hair, unsure of what to feel at this moment.
“You know,” she taunts as her naked body rests against the door. Her tongue darts out across her lips. “Benson enjoyed having me in the shower too.”
I push off the bed and stalk toward her. My eyes lock her in place, and I walk her backwards into the bathroom. “He can’t fuck you the way I can.” This woman activates my teenage hormones, and I can’t get enough of her.
I turn the shower on, and she calls out my name once again.
We spend the night in each other’s arms and when the morning light comes, so does she. Over and over, in between naps and shower sessions. Kelsie is the first woman I have spent the entire day in bed naked with, and I've never felt so consumed and emotionally connected to another soul. We lie under the covers, laughing and devouring each other until it’s time to get ready for the charity gala.
Kelsie stays close to my side as we enter the ballroom. Even though the last thirty hours together have been full of orgasms, she’s tense as she links her arm with mine. I straighten and take her hand, feeling protective over her. I don’t care what people think, but they sure as hell won’t get the opportunity to say it to her sweet face. A smile rests on my face as I scan the crowd, towering over her. Kelsie made a last-minute decision to wear flats, since her dress was long enough to cover her feet.
Plus, we are only here to make an appearance. I swear, this woman is going to try to make it her entire pregnancy without telling anyone she’s pregnant. I’m quite impressed she’s been able to hide it this long as she approaches six months.
“I’m glad this is the last gala for a while.” Kelsie eyes the tray of champagne. “Let me make quick rounds so we can continue our last blissful night without my minions.” She smirks as her shoulders relax.
“Wait.” I pass over the bubbly flute in my hand. “Take this.” She eyes me carefully. I was surprised she never questioned me when she saw me leave the penthouse with it. “It’s sparkling cider for you.”
“Max, thank you.” She looks up at me with glassy eyes, and for a moment, she debates about leaning in for a kiss. “Your thoughtfulness is really making it difficult to not fall for you entirely.”
“Good.” My grin is wide, and I wink as I lower my mouth to her ear. “Go mingle so we can leave and I can give you another reason to keep falling.”
Half an hour later, we share a dance and she is ready to head out. Kelsie takes off for a few final goodbyes. I spot Eric in the corner with a tray of champagne. He’s well put together in his suit, and for a second, I forget how hard he parties when he’s not on shift. He smiles and nods when he sees me walk over.
“Not your typical Saturday night type of party.” I laugh.
“Nah, but two older women gave me some very promising invitations.” He glances around the room as if looking for them. “Took me off guard, considering I am more of thehelp.”
“Some of these elites prey on the fresh-faced men.” I think back to the few who I let teach me a thing or two about a woman’s body. “Not everything is about sex in life though, Eric. A life promised with love and stability is priceless.”
“Man, who has you pussy-whipped?” If we were at the gym, I would have already shoved him by now. “I haven’t seen you with Katy since the party.”
My adrenaline picks up with the mention of her name, and I silently beg she didn’t say anything to Eric. “No, I said hello and goodbye the same night.” I shrug. “Nothing against her, I just had my own shit to work through in my mind.”
“Fair enough, old man.” Eric chuckles as Kelsie walks up with a tight, annoyed smile.
“Do too many people want to keep you socializing?” I ask as she sets her personal crystal flute on the server tray.
“I’m glad Willow isn’t here, but my parents still invited Katherine.” Damn, she says this woman’s name with such distaste every time. “I bet she’s on the prowl to sweet talk her way into a marketing gig, or secretly waiting to take over my position that I’ll never let her have.”
