“Shut up,” Tobias snapped, shooting out a hand and wrapping it around her smooth throat. He could hear her blood roaring in her veins, calling to him. “I don’t need your money.” He flashed her another evil smirk. “But don’t worry, I’m not going to rape you. I don’t get off on that shit.”

More tears rolled down her face. “Wh-what … what do you w-want from me … then?”

Tobias leaned in close, letting her feel his breath on her skin. He made sure she saw his fangs when he spoke. “Dinner.”

Pure terror filled her, emanating from her gaze, her scent, and the rapid, erratic pounding of her heart. “No,” she breathed. When he shoved her against the wall and forced her head back at an angle, pinning her belatedly-squirming body in place with his knees, she finally tried to scream.

His fangs sank deep into her throat, silencing her barely-begun cry for help, and her blood flowed into his mouth. It was warm and sweet and oh-so-satisfying. He drank until he was full, and then, for good measure, he lifted his head and hooked two fingers into the puncture marks on her neck. With minimal effort he ripped her throat wide open and stepped back, letting her slump awkwardly to the ground.

Tobias licked the last traces of his meal from his lips as he watched what blood she’d had left pour from her wound.

It was time to find his next victim.
