Forever.

“Norivun!” His name tore from my lips when the final part of the bond locked into place. My climax ripped through my body as every part of me was intertwined with his essence, his power, his commanding presence. Wave after wave of intense, mind-numbing pleasure reverberated through me.

His own release came at the peak of mine, and Norivun’s roar of triumph as his hips bucked and his seed spilled into me while I clung tightly to his frame was magic and rapture. Perfection and bliss. I’d never felt so complete. So loved. So right as I did at that very moment.

Because Prince Norivun Deema Melustral Achul, first son of the king, Bringer of Darkness, Death Master of the continent, son of Prinavee Territory, and crown prince and heir to the Winter Court’s throne was mine. Forever he would be my mate, and I, Ilara Seary, daughter of Mervalee Territory, Giver of Life, Faithful Restorer ofOrem, and rightful Rising Queen to the Solis Continent was laying claim to the male before me.

Fire flashed through my soul as a deep, demanding instinct awoke and pounded through me. Fierceness made my lips peel back, and I bit Norivun’s shoulder just as he did the same to me.

Mating marks swirled underneath our skin as a smattering of stars appeared along our shoulders in faint ink that forever marked us as one another’s.

This male was my mate.Mine.

And I would fight whoever tried to take him from me.

CHAPTER 14 - NORIVUN

Ilara lay on the bed beside me, nibbling on salted meat and sipping broth. Her unbound hair fell in waves around her shoulders, and her new beautiful white wings draped down her back. We’d finally lit the fairy lights. The soft light flickered off her snowy feathers, and every time the light flashed on her mating mark a swell of immense satisfaction coursed through me.

My mate.Mine.

And she was. I’d claimed her completely, and she was now bound to me, carrying my mark and a hint of my scent. Any male would know she was a claimed female once they scented her, which firmly put her off limits to any male searching for a mate.

Pride and a sense of victory fired through me. I knew once we were fully bonded that I would feel this way. Every mated male fairy I’d ever encountered said the final act of tying the female to you was undoubtedly the most satisfying experience of their lives.

I had to agree. My lips curled up when I ran a finger along my own mating mark. Three small stars were inked under my skin at my shoulder, the same gracing Ilara’s skin. She was now my female. My queen.

Gods, the possessiveness I felt toward her was nearly unhinged.

She gave me a side-eye when she picked up another slice of berried bread. “You keep watching me.”

I growled as my smile broadened. “I can’t help it.”

Her lips curved, and I knew she liked that I was entirely obsessed with her. The contented feeling flowing through her strummed into me on our newly sealed mate bond.

She arched an eyebrow. “Will you be staring from now on?”

“Possibly. It’s hard to look away when the most gorgeous creature I’ve ever encountered is right in front of me.”

Her cheeks pinked, and I had to suppress a smirk. Her embarrassment was one of the traits I found most enduring in her. Despite claiming her three times in the past hour, while she begged me each time to go harder and deeper, she still blushed like a virginal fairy who’d never done such brazen acts before.

A stirring rumbled through me, and I made my thoughts turn away from any male fae she’d been with prior. Murder made my gaze shine red at just the thought of another male touching her.

She popped another bite of bread into her mouth. “We’ll have to be careful, if we’re going to be doing this often. I could become with child.”

My smile grew. The thought of seeing her belly swollen with my child made feral pride surge through me. But alas, the timing was not right for that. “You don’t need to worry. I’ve taken precautions.”

Her eyebrows shot up. “You have?”

I tore off another bite of meat and swallowed before saying, “The second I knew you were my mate I began taking a monthly potion to prevent conception.”

“You mean...” Her surprised look increased. “You’ve been taking that potion for months?”

“Indeed. I knew when this time came that I didn’t want to worry about planting my seed inside you. I knew when the time was right for us that we could begin trying for such a blessing, until then I’ll take the potion.”

Her lips parted, her expression softening. “You want to one day make a family with me?”

“Of course, I do. You’re my mate. One day, if you’re willing, you shall bear my children.”
