She gasped again when I thrust into her fast and hard. And all the while, she gripped my shoulders and bit my neck, demanding more, more, more.
My release roared through me as she screamed at the same time. I gripped her hips tightly, emptying myself inside her completely as she shuddered with her climax.
I saw stars. Felt the gods. Knew that my life would never again be complete without her.
And when we finally came down from that high, that visceral need to keep her safe and close again overtook me.
I wrapped my arms around her, burying my face in her neck, as my heart pounded. She shuddered against me as my cock stayed buried inside her while I soaked up her scent.
Our mating bond burned brightly. Her love pulsed toward me with every breath she took as she became limp with satiation in my arms.
I rocked back on my heels and carried her to the bed with our bodies still joined. My wings fanned out around us when I lifted the sheets and laid her atop the mattress before kissing every inch of her skin.
We might not have saved the continent yet. We hadn’t even stopped my wedding.
But Ilara was mine, and I was hers, and damn anyone who tried to rip us apart.

I pleasuredmy mate twice more before we finally ordered supper. None of my guards commented on our fuck session even though they’d probably known what we’d been up to despite the solid air Shield I’d cast around us to prevent any other guests or fae on the street from hearing my mate’s screams.
Those screams were for my ears and my ears alone.
After we’d finally eaten, Ilara crawled into bed beside me as the light from the moons bled through the curtains.
She was naked, something I heartily approved of, but...a frown tugged at my lips.
“What’s wrong?” she asked, yawning before she leaned up on her elbow to place her hand on my chest.
“You don’t have any clothes.”
“Are you complaining?”
I snorted. “No.”
She yawned again. “Good, cause it’s your fault my yellow top is in tatters.” She eyed its remnants on the floor. The clothes the Fire Wolf had given me were in a similar state. So much for the memento.“It’s too bad. I liked that top.”
Despite her playful words, my frown deepened. “As the future queen of the Solis continent, you should have hundreds of silk slips to choose from each night, so it doesn’t matter if I tear them in two. You shouldn’t only have one set of clothing.”
“But I’m not the future queen of the Solis continent. Georgyanna is.”
I growled. “Fuck Georgyanna.”
“Agreed, but what if I don’t like silk slips?” Her fingers skimmed along my chest, amusement strumming through our bond.
I nipped at her fingers when they reached my chin. “You know what I mean.” A rumble of discontentment vibrated through me. “I don’t like it. It means that I’m not providing for you. You need an entire wardrobe of new clothes. All of those tunics that Cailis had packed for you will no longer work. If you call your wings forth, you’ll tear through your entire wardrobe in no time.”
She cocked her head. “You know, I spent many seasons growing up with only one top. We never had a lot of rulibs. Sometimes a single set of clothes was all I had for a full season. It was all my parents could afford.”
I angled closer to her. “Even before the crops began dying?”
“Yes, even then.”
“But our continent is usually prosperous. How could you have been so poor as a child?”
Her nostrils flared. “Vorl enjoyed taking more of his cut than he was due. We could never prove it, but we never had many rulibs despite my parents working hard.”
My dragon rumbled within me. “Fucking Vorl.”
