I gestured with my head. “Esta. Come here.”

Come here? She snapped. You fetch me over as if I could not throw you over the forest.

I paused, taking in her word choice. She seemed flustered, not really as scared as the time before.

As if to prove her point, she picked up a sizable purple branch and launched it into the air, sending it flying far above us.

“I could easily catch myself with my magic when I fell,” I reminded her. “Also, you could have hurt Serkan or the other dragon.”

Oh, I’m quite all right,Serkan sent me.So is Nyx.

Meanwhile Esta was fuming at me, smoke clearly rolling out of her nostrils.

I popped my eyes wide in faux terror. “Don’t move, there’s a spider behind you.”

She squealed. That was the best way I could describe it. A squeal.

I had to press my lips together to keep from laughing hysterically. She knew other creatures knew to stay away from the shifter sanctuaries, yet she was still terrified a lone spider could have strayed in.

There is no spider, is there? She stomped forward a step.

I shook my head and let out a laugh. “No. After your threat of throwing me, I wasn’t sure you wouldn’t breathe fire on me and crispify me, so I had to do something.”

She began walking again.Crispifying you would make my throw far less impressive, thus ruin my grand point. Let’s go, my annoying moon.

I grinned.

Serkan had peeked his head out and was greeting John and Malachi at the shore.

He spun his head toward my direction.Risking it for the biscuit again, I see?

Emric laughed. “That is the best saying I have ever heard. Mind if I steal that?”

At the same time Serkan said,Not at all,I said, “Yes.”

After I laughed, I turned back to Serkan. “I am going to attempt to unlock the Enchantment in your queen again, so yes.”

Mind if I watch and keep your men company?

“Not at all,” I stated with a nod. “So long as you do not eat them.”

Too many bones,Serkan offered.Too crunchy.

Let’s get it over with, the queen demanded.

I gave her a slight bow. “Yes, my belligerent queen.”

She squinted.

I grinned and made sure we went in deep enough to have the water at knee level. I also wanted to be closer to Esta this time, less distance for my magic to travel.

“Ready?” I asked, eyes on her.

To throw you? Always.

With a laugh, I closed my eyes and was intentional about willing my magic to Esta. I wanted to see her hand again, however my magic had made that happen, and then I wanted it to spread to the entirety of her body until she shifted. I wanted her healed and healthy. A healthy Dra Skor from the inside out. I released thick strands of my magic at her, also willing her to feel nothing but the hum of my power.

It took two minutes of both a constant and powerful stream of my magic flowing into her, but finally, I saw her hand again.
