My hand muffled her cries and she pulsed around me, her hips thrusting forward greedily.

The tension left her body as the last waves of her pleasure began to ebb.

I moved inside her again, rocking my fingers back and forth within her.

“Oh, God. I can’t, I can’t, please!” She squirmed under my touch as I brought her back to the edge again.

“Does that mean you want me to stop?” I asked her.

“No, no… don’t stop.”

I pressed my hand back across her mouth and she nipped at it in frustration until, with a final twitch of my fingers inside her, she came once again. Her body shook, and had it not been for my hand her screams would have brought five men with guns storming into the kitchen.

Her body went limp when I released her, and she braced herself against the edge of the smooth wooden table as she caught her breath. There was a light sheen across her face, and wispy tendrils of hair stuck to the back of her neck. When I brushed her hair back, she reached up and grabbed my hand.

Gia stood up and pushed the chair aside. Still holding my hand, she turned it palm up and studied it silently.

“Are you trying to read my fortune?”

She planted a kiss on my palm, then moved closer to me. My arms wrapped around her without thought and I held her against me. Her very presence brought me a sense of peace that I hadn’t felt since before I pulled off my first hit.

The kitchen door banged open and we jumped away from each other so fast that I bashed my elbow on the counter and Gia rammed her toes into the chair.

“Uh, you guys okay?” Carlos entered the room, looking at me first, then over to where Gia was balanced on one foot and examining her reddened toes. How she could make that look graceful and not topple over, I would never know.

“We’re fine.” I turned around and grabbed a coffee mug from the cabinet and busied myself with pouring a cup.

“I’m good, I’ll see you later!” Gia dashed out of the room, face aflame.

“What have you been up to,fratello?” Carlos raised an eyebrow at me and reached for the coffee pot.

“Nothing, I told you that,” I snapped at him.

“Oh okay, then I must have just imagined Gia bolting out of here with her pants unbuttoned,si?” Carlos ducked my arm when I reached out to grab him, laughing his ass off.

“What are you, fourteen?”

“Hey, I’m not the one making out with a girl in her parents’ kitchen!” He reached back out and grabbed his coffee, snickering.

“Carlos. We have more important things to discuss.”

The amusement vanished from his face and he looked grim.

“Alec,” he spat.

“Exactly. I tried to speak with Angelo, but he’s still on the fence about him.” My hands clenched into fists. “We still need to try and find something more solid on the rat.”

“At least with him locked up downstairs, no new intel will be leaking out to the Sabitinos.” Carlos said “That could be proof enough for Angelo. Or we could get lucky, maybe thestronzowill confess and make this a whole lot easier on all of us.”

I barked a laugh. “When has Alec ever made anything easier for anyone?”

“But if it’s to save his own skin, he might.” Carlo narrowed his eyes.

“Possibly,” I conceded. “I’ll run it by Angelo and see if he has any issues with the two of us having a little chat with Alec later.”

Cold anger spread through me, chilling the skin that had warmed under Gia’s touch. Alec had not only betrayed Angelo and the family, but he gavetold Sabitino the information he needed to sic that sick fuck Emilio on Gia.

He will pay for this.
