The head of his cock nudges against my entrance and he thrusts inside roughly, stealing my breath.
My fingers scrabble and claw against the tile wall as he pulls out halfway, then surges back in, a moan tumbling from my lips as I revel in the stretch and overwhelming feeling of fullness.
“That’s what I thought,” he mutters under his breath as he starts fucking me in earnest, one arm locked around my waist to anchor me as his other hand slides up to collar my neck.
I’m completely at his mercy- but secretly, that’s exactly where I like to be. There’s a freedom in willingly handing over control, a power in knowing that it’s all on my own terms.
The loud slap of his hips against my ass echoes against the tile wall as I use it for leverage, pushing back to meet every hard thrust, and the sound of the water pouring down from the showerhead is nothing compared to the chorus of moans coming from both of us. Thank god Cole has his own wing in the packhouse, or everyone who lives here would know exactly what we’re up to. I tried to rein it in last night in the pool, but now I’m not holding anything back, screaming his name as he pounds into me harder.
His breathing turns more ragged as he slides his hand from my throat to give my breast a hard squeeze, then drops it lower, his deft fingers immediately finding my clit. My legs go wobbly as he starts strumming it, my head falling back against his shoulder while liquid heat scorches me from the inside out.
“You gonna come for me, baby?” Cole rasps, and from the way he’s panting I can tell he’s almost there.
“Yes,” I breathe. “So… close…”
The words have barely left my lips before fireworks explode behind my eyelids, my climax rocketing through me. My body trembles, eyes rolling back as I ride the wave of bliss, Cole’s thrusts becoming frantic as he ruts into me like a savage beast. Then he grunts with a final hard punch of his hips, warmth flooding inside me as he finds his release.
He doesn’t let go as we both come back down. Cole’s arms are still firmly locked around my waist as he pulls out, then peppers my neck and shoulders with kisses as he guides me back underneath the spray of the shower, my legs still shaky. He grabs the body wash and we take our time soaping one another up and rinsing off, getting clean all over again. The steam is so thick in the bathroom by the time we’re finished that it’s difficult to see, the dense fog completely obscuring the mirror as I comb through my hair with my fingers.
When we head back into Cole’s room, I’m surprised to find a pair of my jean shorts and a t-shirt folded on the foot of his bed waiting for me. I throw him a suspicious glance upon seeing them, my brow arched in question.
“I asked Shay to bring them by while you were in the shower,” he explains, the white bath towel riding low on his hips as he strides into his closet.
Of course.
“Remind me to thank her,” I say as I drop my own towel and grab the clothes, getting dressed quickly. “Saved me from doing the walk of shame.”
Cole’s head peeks out from the doorframe of his walk-in closet. “The walk of shame?” he asks with a scowl. “You’re mymate, Juliet, not a damn one-night stand.”
“Yeah, but not everybody knows that.”
“They need to, you’re their Luna,” he mumbles, stepping out of his closet and pulling a t-shirt on over his head. He swipes a hand over his buzzed head, glancing in my direction to find me gaping at him. “What?”
I swallow hard, shaking my head. “I can’t be Luna.”
“What do you mean?” he asks with a laugh. “I’m Alpha, you’re my mate. Hate to break it to you, babe, but it kinda comes with the territory.”
I shake my head again. “No, Cole, Ican’t…” My heart races, my skin prickling with anxiety. “How the hell am I supposed to be Luna of a pack when I don’t even know who I am yet?”
The amusement drains from his expression when he realizes that I’m being serious. His brow furrows, head tilting. “You’re joking, right?”
When I don’t respond, Cole advances toward me, not stopping until we’re toe to toe. He slides a finger beneath my chin, tipping my head back to look up at him. “I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone more sure of themselves than you are, Juliet,” he grumbles, pinning me beneath the intensity of his stare. “I don’t know who you were back at home, but ever since you’ve been here, it’s clear that you know exactly who you are and what you want. You’re unapologetic about it. And I should know because it drives me fucking crazy sometimes.”
I crack a smile at that, rolling my eyes.
“And another thing,” Cole adds, drawing my gaze back to his. His hand slides up to cup my jaw, the pad of his thumb tracing my lower lip. “The Juliet I know doesn’t back down from a challenge. She steps up to it with more grace and confidence than anyone. And that’s exactly why you’re going to be the best Luna this pack’s ever seen.”
My insides turn to mush at the adoration in his eyes and the sincerity in his words. It’s hard to second-guess this thing between us when he looks at me like that and says the things he just did.Damn him.
“You’re a pain in my ass, you know that?” I groan, brushing his hands away and taking a step back. I cross my arms over my chest, staring him down with the faintest smirk on my lips. “How can you go from saying all the wrong things one day to saying all the right things the next?”
“Because I’m thinking clearly now. I wasn’t then.” Cole sighs heavily, scrubbing a hand over his face. “I told you, I was scared out of my mind that night, Jules. I didn’t mean what I said, and…” He trails off, something flickering in his eyes like an idea just came to him. “You know what? I’m going to prove it.” He reaches out, grabbing onto my hand and tugging me toward the door.
“How?” I laugh, allowing Cole to tow me behind him out of his bedroom and into the hall.
“Well for starters, I’m gonna take you downstairs right now and show everybody in this packhouse that there’s only one girl I want.” He yanks me closer, tossing an arm over my shoulders as he continues to lead me down the corridor.
“So what, you’re just going to march into the kitchen and announce that we’re mates?” I scoff sarcastically. I drop my voice low, imitating him. “Hey guys, you barely know this girl, but meet your new Luna!”
