Luckily our brothers were there to break it up very quickly. They understood, somewhat, that we were under a lot of hormonal pressure probably fueled by magic shenanigans, and that we weren’t rational Lycans having an ordinary fight. We wanted to kill each other because of pure dick-fueled male aggression that hopefully wouldn’t last out the week and certainly wouldn’t take precedence over other matters.

With about five brothers between us, including Rog who was more or less our unofficial doctor, it was decided that we were both going to sleep, away from our mate, and that the pup would immediately be put on babysitting duty since he barely knew how to use his dick anyway.

“Hey!” Beau moaned defensively. He wasn’t between us because he was rightfully afraid of getting killed by accident.

“—and he doesn’t want to be killed, and it would be incredibly easy for you to do so, so he is very unlikely to try anything with the female,” Hunter assured calmly. “He will watch her. And then ya’ll will go to Little Mama’s first thing tomorrow, see if shecan straighten this all out. There’s probably a counter-spell or some such shit.”

Ry and I were still glaring at each other, but it was hard to argue with his logic. He was right—it was possible that the Kaci drama would straighten itself out. Sure, if Little Mama had caused this, there would be the devil to pay—and I meant that almost literally—but at least there might be an easy fix to it. If not, she and her gang knew what was possible and what wasn’t.

“Alright,” said Clint, who for one looked a little more relaxed and put his hands down when he had been pushing us apart. “So, truce.”

Ry hesitantly nodded. He looked like he would feel better taking a few more swings at me, and despite the pain wracked through my body, I felt the same, but I nodded too.

“Why are we going to Little Mama’s?” Ry finally asked, looking confused.

Everyone groaned. Even I had my hand up, scrubbing across my forehead. “I’m going to bed,” I announced, forcing my body up the stairs. “Hunter, Pup—give him the rundown, because he needs to be ready to battle demons tomorrow if need be.”

CHAPTER 14

Kaci

I was beginning to think this wasn’t a hallucination.

There was evidence. Firstly, I was still scratched up. Secondly, my throat still hurt from being mouthfucked. My whole body ached, and I was still in a room in the mansion, and not on some hospital cot somewhere. If itwasa hallucination, it just wasn’t giving up. Now, I might have entered some strange other dimension, but I was starting to think that being embroiled in some sort of werewolf drama was actually more likely than another dimension.

This sort of thing should have happened to my sister instead. It would have been luckier all around—firstly, it wouldn’t have been me. Secondly, she believed in shit like this already. At least, she believed in magic and the Loch Ness Monster, so I assume she would have taken the reality of werewolves with a grace that I didn’t possess.

The even more interesting part that sealed this together for me was that neither Caelum nor Ry seemed at all happy about thissituation either. Sure, I was caught up in something, but so were they. So yeah, I did somehow end up with hotties obsessed with my pussy, but they didn’t want my pussy, anyway. It was obvious that they thought it was my fault, and people didn’t go around trying to blame people for shit that they were happy about.

Plus, it wasn’t my fault. It was my sister’s fault.

She had the spell book. She had performed a spell and then wolves showed up an hour later. Coincidence? I think not. After all, if Ry was one of those wolves, which I was beginning to assume he was, then he was almost normal on Friday with me. Sure, there may have been a little bit of tension, and that tension might have even been sexual, but itwasn’tlike it was now.

Yes, I had made fun of the spell at the time. Who wouldn’t have? It was stupid.

I really was wishing it was a whole lot stupider now. So stupid that it hadn’t actually worked.

What the fuck was I going to do? I had been left woefully unprepared for this situation.

I could go to my sister’s and get the book. Maybe there was a counterspell, and then the werewolves would leave me alone. And I’d hopefully want them to.

Yeah, go back to the source. Made sense.

I pushed myself out of bed, feeling like I had a plan of action (A—get book. B—get necklace. C—return all of it to Little Mama’s, the weird shop on Main Street, and make a strongly worded review about my experience), and I immediately stepped on a sleeping man’s face.

We both made noises that we weren’t proud of. His sounded like that of a wounded giraffe, and mine was of a frustrated chimpanzee. I jumped back into the bed, trying to cover my nakedness.

“Fuck!” the guy said. I had actually seen this particular one around campusa lotand met him on several occasions. He was a TA for the psychology department; or at least that was his story. My guess was that if he was here, then he was a werewolf too, and therefore part of this weird conspiracy.

“Beau?” I blinked. Although most of the professors weren’t interested in having sex with anyone that wasn’t a full-on grad student, Beau Beaumont was the exception; probably because he was a TA and not a full-blown professor yet. He wasn’t someone who had to look for pussy; he was very attractive, had impressively wide, muscular shoulders, and almost had his Ph.D., so women foundhim. Word on the street was that he rarely dated the same girl twice, but he did lay good pipe.

I knew him just like I knew most of the students. They didn’t call me ‘The Politician’ for nothing; I knew what most people’s mama’s names were and what they liked most for breakfast. Beau was no exception.

“Hey, Kaci,” he said, still making whiny noises as he rubbed the eye I had accidentally punched my heel into.

I wasn’t going to mince words. “What the fuck are you doing on my floor?”

“Babysitting for Caelum and Ry,” he explained.
