“You know, I bet there could be room for you,” Avril said, contractually obligated to get in one final flirtatious jab. “Anna and Victoria wouldn’t have to know. You could just cozy up between me and Tess and get some sleep in an actual bed tonight.”

“If he could even get any sleep in such an arrangement,” Tess said. However, that was all she said on the matter. No admonishment for the suggestion, not even a sigh. However, Liam supposed those were more common from the women who’d already found their shared bed.

“I don’t think I would get any sleep in such an arrangement,” Liam confirmed, which caused Avril to shrug.

“Sleep is overrated, but I get it. Enjoy your couch, Liam.”

“Goodnight, you two.”

“Goodnight,” Tess said, smiling softly as they went their separate ways.

For some reason, as if aware of the eyes lingering on him, he glanced over his shoulder as he reached the end of the hall. His gaze met an eternally deep blue pair where they lingered at the threshold to Avril’s bedroom. Stopping where he was, he smiled and waved goodnight.

Tess didn’t immediately reciprocate the gesture. Even in the darkness, he thought he could make out a hint of color on her angelic features. She vacillated in the doorway, eyes never leaving him. It nearly worried him enough that he considered going to check on her. Yet, a moment later, her slender hand went up, and she finally smiled and swished her hand through the air. She disappeared into Avril’s bedroom afterward.

Liam’s thoughts clung to that final odd moment of hesitation as he found his way to his sleeping arrangements for the night, stripping down to his boxers once he reached them. As ever, his fated companion, Anna and Avril’s living room couch, was long enough that he could stretch out on it, and he stifled a yawn as he did so. As many fond memories as he might have of it, he doubted sleeping on it tonight would account for one of them. Certainly not when compared to what Avril had offered him a few minutes ago, impossible a hope as it might be.

Couldn’t just leave me to sleep peacefully,he grumbled at the redhead. Already, he knew that images of the two gorgeous women cuddling together in her bed would plague the backs of his eyelids. Hell, he had options. No matter which bedroom he envisioned, the sights within were enough to make his heart race.

So much for falling asleep quickly,he thought, throwing an arm between his pillow and the back of his head as he stared up at the ceiling.

He wasn’t certain how long he’d been listlessly struggling to fall asleep when he heard the footfalls. Long enough that, when he opened his eyes, his sight had adjusted to the darkness curtaining the room. He’d rolled over onto his side a while ago, nestling his face toward the back of the couch as he sought sleep. Barring sitting up, he had no way of seeing who was approaching, or why.

Probably just getting a drink from the kitchen,he told himself as the nearly silent footsteps neared the end of the hall. Yet, rather than shifting laterally toward the kitchen, they continued ramping up ever so slightly in volume.

They were coming closer. Directly toward him, in fact.

Should he sit up, feign sleep, call out? Ropes of indecision tethered each option, and his body ended up picking one that hadn’t even been on the list. He rolled over to his other side, which would at least let him see who it was if they really were coming to rouse him.

In the darkness, a feminine figure appeared. A stunning figure, even wrapped in shadows and subterfuge. Her soft footsteps brought her directly in front of him. She stretched a hand toward his shoulder, then realized with a soft start that he was already awake. Tess’s hand hovered midair, neither finishing its journey nor returning to her side.

“Everything okay?” he asked, reminded of the concern he’d felt following the strange moment they’d shared in the hall a little while ago—or a long while ago, depending on how long it’d been since then. He remained uncertain when it was; his phone was charging in the kitchen.

She didn’t answer, and as his apprehension increased, he started to move aside his covers so he could sit up.

She stopped him by thrusting her lips onto his.

Though unexpected, given the time and location where he felt them again, their warmth, softness, and passion werefamiliar. Nevertheless, he immediately responded positively, pushing back so their lips could remain entangled. Yet, Tess still pushed harder. She didn’t let him get up, not yet anyway. She used her leverage to keep him pressed down, and their kiss would have gone on like that forever if she hadn’t broken it off.

All so the sexy woman could seize the hem of her top and rip it off.

Any drowsiness still ruminating within his body disintegrated like packing peanuts tossed into a volcano. The aggravatingly full outline of her breasts stole his breath away, but it didn’t paralyze him. Instead, her voluptuous, womanly body filled him with vigor.

This time, Tess didn’t stop him when trying to sit up. Instead, she waited for him to do so, and then she climbed onto his lap and rushed her mouth back to his. He hadn’t even finished getting the covers off his lap before she claimed his mouth again, passion spilling off her body in waves as she intensified their kiss.

Liam’s heart raced, and carnal instinct took over. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pinning her against him unnecessarily. Tess wasn’t planning on going anywhere. Not for a long while.

When the kiss broke, they were both slightly out of breath. Liam stared at the gorgeous woman straddling his lap, and a flurry of questions bid to be the frontrunner. He had time for only one before their mouths reconvened.

“Are you sure?”

She nodded, and that was that.

During their next kiss, she lifted herself enough for him to thrust his blanket off toward the corner of the couch. After that, her hands rushed wildly through his hair, and the sex-hungry professor purred softly as he set his warm hands on her smooth lower back. He could feel her quivering with a combination ofthrill and trepidation, yet the latter only enhanced the former for them both. His hands climbed up her silky skin, and each caress that didn’t end with her climbing off him and realizing what a dangerous thing they were doing added to the excitement swelling within him.

Tess pinned her large breasts against his chest, rubbing her nipples against his skin. Their kiss crackled with dangerous lust, and his fingers danced back down her back until they’d grasped her unfairly full butt. A throaty murmur was his reward for doing so.

“I’ve wanted this all night,” Tess whispered lustfully, burying her lips into his shoulder, leaving a storm of fiery kisses upon it.
