“Please,” Avril snorted.
All three of them had distractions to keep their focus away from the final round. He didn’t intentionally cheat, but it wasn’t as if he could avert his gaze with a seductive troublemaker wiggling her butt on his lap whenever it was time for him to put down a card. In numerous of her positions, he couldn’t help but notice some of her cards, especially when he needed to lean into her to reach the table.
“You’re so immature,” Anna sighed when Avril began bouncing on his lap after she forced Anna to pick up the stack for a second time.
“Jealous?”
“No!”
Okay, enough is enough,Liam thought.
Forcing himself to stay calm, cool, and collected, he did everything in his power to ensure he emerged as the final round’s victor. So, yeah, he even cheated a little, using the information he gleaned from Avril’s hand whenever he could spot it. If she noticed, she at least knew she wasn’t in any position—literally and figuratively—to complain about it.
By the time he won, his blood was on fire, his cock was throbbing urgently, and he could feel his heartbeat in his fingertips. He cleared his throat after leaning into Avril and confirming that he’d put two nines down when he emptied his hand.
“My win,” he announced, clenching his teeth as Avril shimmied her butt against his erection.
“Dare,” the two women, one glaring, one smirking, said in harmonious disharmony.
“Fine,” he said, gripping Avril’s hips.
She wasn’t the only one to gasp at his sudden action, but he ignored both women.
“Avril, I dare you to stop causing trouble for Anna.”
He continued ignoring her as Avril thrust a glare over her shoulder.
“And Anna, I dare you to stop being so irate with Avril.”
And then he carefully but firmly pushed Avril off his lap.
She made no attempt to reclaim her spot, though she didn’t move much further than from where he’d pushed her. He could only see a single side of her face as she and Anna shared a look.
“Pretty stupid ploy to make, trying to tell us both off like that,” Avril said, turning to face him. “A very guy thing to do, and then you’d be shocked when our annoyance got redirected to you.”
“It was a price I was willing to pay,” he said.
Before she responded, Avril’s gaze dropped. In removing her alluring body from him, he’d saved himself from any future torture. However, in doing so as quickly as he had, his arousal was an open secret beneath his pants.
The beginnings of a smile curled Avril’s mouth, though Liam wasn’t sure why. Even if she hadn’t seen her handiwork until now, she’d certainly felt what she was creating with all her movement over the past round.
“Do we kick him out or let him stay over for dinner?” she asked, head swiveling toward Anna.
“Dinner?” she said. “But it’s not even five yet.”
“Yeah, but I want Giacomo’s.”
Anna’s mouth flattened. “And are you going to be the one to go get it?”
“No, because I did last time. So, it’s your turn.”
“That’s—”
“And remember, amanhas demanded that we hurry and make up, so wehaveto do it.”
“Okay, hey, that’s not what this is—” he began, only for Avril to shove a finger over his lips.
“So?” the redhead asked, staring at her best friend.
