“I’m not familiar with that area, but I know a few agents in the county to refer to.Are there any specifications you are requiring?”

“Privacy.”

“Anything else?”

“Land, mountain views, trees. Are those types of properties hard to come by?”

“Not at all.” Pretty common for hunting areas and anywhere in Montana that wasn’t in a major city.“It just depends on how much you want to live in the mountains or be closer to flat land. Most acreage properties are farming land. You can get a tax break if you own livestock.”

“I don’t care much for nature.”

Ooookay. He wanted nature properties but didn’t care for nature. He picked the wrong state to live in for that.Montana was surrounded by nature.Morgan had lived here her whole life and only left to visit her brother in Florida where it was vastly different with the humidity, ocean, and heat.

The winters here were brutal, but the summers were perfect. She loved hiking the rugged landscape or traipsing through the forest. She may not look the naturist with her heels and business outfits, but she loved being in the mountains.

“I don’t want too close of neighbors, but a town for supplies nearby.Oh, and it needs to be bear country. Can you show me a list of properties like that?”

“I can, but I want to know more about what you are looking for.Like how many bedrooms?” She shrugged. This man was going to be a hard sell.He wanted the impossible.Have everything, even things that didn’t coincide. He wasn’t her first difficult client, but he was the type who seemed he wouldn’t compromise on what he wanted.

“Two, I guess,” he responded as if he didn’t care.“It’s going to be an investment property.”

“Alright, and budget?” she questioned, taking a sip of water.

“Two million dollars.”

Morgan almost spit out her drink. She knew her eyes were bugging out of her head, but she couldn’t help it.She’d worked with rich clients before, but they spent big money on land that could turn into a large investment, not a home they didn’t care about as long as it had privacy.

“Well, I have quite a list to go through for you. It’s going to take a few days to compile everything.” She was going to have to defer to agents in that county to give her best suggestions since she didn’t know the area.

“Well, now that the business is out of the way, let’s order food.” He leaned forward, resting his arms on the table. His fingers stretched toward her but were just out of reach of touching her.

Morgan started to say no, but she needed to eat, and why not make him pay for it?What did she have to rush home to?Nothing. Not even a pet to complain to.“Sure.”

Simon raised his hand, and a waiter appeared out of thin air as if they had just been waiting to be summoned.Simon rattled off his order without bothering to look at his menu. His gaze was on Morgan as he ordered something fancy he probably thought would impress her.

Morgan could care less. She was a simple food kind of girl.Honestly, she preferred the food trucks Jameson introduced her to instead of the five-star restaurants in town. But since Simon was paying, she picked something on the pricier side of the menu.

“Tell me about yourself, Morgan,” he requested, sitting back in his seat, getting comfortable after they’d ordered.

“There’s not much to know.” She played with her now-empty water glass.

“I find that hard to believe.”

“What do you want to know?” She didn’t like talking about herself. She didn’t find herself a very interesting subject.

“How long have you lived here?”

“Since I was little.”

“And where were you before that?”

“Florida.”

“Ah, the sunshine state.Quite a change. Is your family still here?”

Morgan didn’t feel comfortable about the line of questions.Previous clients didn’t care about her background or try to get to know her. They told her what they wanted and moved on.“Do you plan on living in Montana or just using the lodge for hunting season?”

“I haven’t decided yet.” He stared down at his whiskey glass.“It may turn out to be a good investment property.” He didn’t sound like he cared one way or another. That was a lot of money to throw away on a property he didn’t seem to care about.Must be rough.
