Our kisses grew more passionate, especially when he climbed onto my lap. I was just about to slide my cock inside of him when one of my wolves burst into the room, out of breath and an urgent look on his face.
“Alphas, I apologize for the interruption, but that vampire is here. Théoden, he’s demanding to speak with you,” the young wolf informed us.
I growled, because I didn’t appreciate that motherfucker breaching my territory without notifying me first. Let alone my home. Elijah slid off my lap and we both climbed out of the jacuzzi and grabbed our terry cloth robes, slipping them on. “Where is he now, Lenny?”
“He refused to leave, so I had him wait outside your office, Alpha,” Lenny said.
“Good, you can go,” I said.
He nodded and walked off. I turned to Elijah. “What the fuck does this bloodsucker want? Rude ass prick didn’t even show me the respect of requesting a fucking invitation,” I snapped.
“Do you think he knows about his–?”
I cut him off with my hand over his mouth before he could finish what he was about to ask. I leaned into his ear and whispered at a volume I knew only he’d be able to hear. “Vampires have exceptional hearing.” The pool room wasn’t one of our soundproof rooms like my bedroom or office.
“I see. Okay, let’s go find out what this asshole wants,” Elijah said.
I nodded and together, we made our way to my office where Théoden was standing outside the door, waiting as my wolf had told me. “So, we’re just bypassing decorum now?” I asked as I approached, giving Théoden a snarl to show him my disapproval.
“I called, but you didn’t answer your phone. This is an emergency,” Théoden said.
I rolled my eyes, but opened my office all the same. We three entered and Elijah locked the door behind us. I walked over to my chair and sat down comfortably. “So, what’s the emergency?” I asked as I opened my cigar box and removed one. I lit it and took a few puffs as I watched Théoden.
“I’m calling in our alliance. My King’s army is under attack from a rival and we need all the alliances we can get. We have a deal, I expect you to honor it,” Théoden said.
I smirked. “Under attack from who?”
“A rival vampire named Alexander,” Théoden replied and it felt like he was leaving out some details.
I sat back and drummed my fingertips on my polished desk. Elijah came over and sat on the edge of it. “Seems like something you vampires can handle. Don’t you have Josef’s pack and your alliance with Kendrick? That should be more than enough if they fight with your vampires,” I pointed out. With all that fire power, I wasn’t sure why he was bothering me.
“Alexander is attacking our army during the day. He and his army are immune to the sun, they can fly, and have both dragon and werewolf venom. We’re at a severe disadvantage, even if he were attacking at night. So, I'm sure you can understand why we need everyone we’ve made alliances with to honor them,” Théoden said.
Elijah scoffed and tossed an incredulous glance at me over his shoulder before returning his attention to Théoden. “I don’t know what the hell you expect us to do against freak ass vampires that have the advantages of werewolves and dragons and regular vampires? We’re not immune to fire or dragon venom. Going up against them would require too much of a sacrifice on our end to be bot–”
“I’m going to stop you right there, pup. Let the grown folks talk, because I’m sure Deacon understands the ramifications of pissing me off,” Théoden said after rudely interrupting my mate.
“And you can mind your manners in how you’re talking to my fucking mate,” I said, then put my cigar out. “Now, you may not have liked what Elijah had to say, but he’s not wrong. I don’t fancy sending my pack to defend your territory on a fucking suicide mission.”
Théoden smiled and it wasn’t one that was jovial. In fact, it was the opposite, and it held a veiled threat, which gave me cause for concern. He walked over toward the window and looked out at the stars.
“In a few hours, when my vampires have to rest during the day is when the attack will happen. We have no idea how many will be coming, but defending my territory will be my sons, grandsons, and myself. For we are the only ones powerful enough to do so. There are some in our army who can rise during the day, but they are at a disadvantage because they cannot tolerate the sun and are susceptible to the fire and venoms. We do have the aid of Josef and Kendrick,” Théoden said.
“Seems like more than enough to me,” I stated, but kept my eyes on him.
“They will send who they can, but must also keep their armies in their own territory for defense,” Théoden said, then he turned to me. “It’s quite possible that Alexander–now that he and his are so powerful–will want all of Odin Colony.” He made an offhand gesture. “Including your pack.”
I shrugged. “It’s also possible that he just wants to beat the living shit out of you and Ara. I mean, it wasn’t me who came over here two hundred years ago and fucked up his whole set up. That was your King being greedy, wanting to conquer the new world. From what I know, Alexander was pretty lenient when it came to the packs and didn’t bother pack territory.”
Théoden’s jaw tightened, his gray gaze hardened as his rage was barely kept in check. He didn’t like not getting his way. That much I knew about him. And when you were as powerful as he was, not getting your way wasn’t anything you experience often, if ever.
“I’d much rather throw my weight behind Kendrick than you and Ara. At least, they’ll be fighting by my side, instead of asking me to fight for them,” I said.
“So, you’re going back on your word?” Théoden asked.
“Well, maybe we’ll just send one wolf to help you just like you did when we asked for your help and you sent Marco,” Elijah said. “Oh, but wait, that was the bare minimum even when it was beneficial to you.”
“Or we’ll send no one at all, just like you did when Kendrick was a threat to me. You didn’t send one fucking vampire to help me.” I shook my head and huffed. “The balls on you, the fucking gall! To breach my bloody territory without permission and demand I honor an alliance between us that you didn’t. You and your fucking King can kiss my entire ass, Théoden,” I said. The more I thought about the level of audacity this bastard had, the more irate I became.
