“Look, Max,” she began. “I know what we had was just one weekend and I understand it’s finished and we’ve both moved on, but…”

A little flame burst to life in my cold heart. “But what?”

“But I had a really good time with you and I wanted to return the favor. I got us tickets for a concert.”

I stared at her. How could she possibly be my enemy?

She walked towards me in her white shirt and unbelievably erotic pencil skirt. “Here,” she said, holding out two scraps of printed paper.

Our hands brushed and awareness spread through my body, settling in my cock. I looked down at the papers. Tickets to a Bruno Mars concert.

“I’d like us to go together,” she said, her voice tight. I could feel the tension in her body as she waited for my reaction.

“Okay,” I heard myself say.

A slow smile spread across her face. “Thank you,”

I stared at her for too long. “I’ll pick you up at six.”

“That’s perfect,” she said, her features growing so soft, that it practically made me want to growl with happiness.

She left, leaving a hint of her signature honey and lavender scent behind.

-marry you-

Irang Lillian’s buzzer.

“Come on up,” she said breathlessly.

I pushed the door open and made for the elevator. It was an ancient thing. I would have classed it under the dangerous category. I shifted my weight from one foot to the other, willing it to move faster. As soon as the doors creaked open, I was out.

“Hi,” Lillian said, opening the door.

I took a sharp breath at the sight of her. I know it was a concert and some girls even wore bikini tops to these events, but that silver dress she had squeezed into should have been illegal.

“You look… edible,” I said, my voice husky, revealing my uncontrollable desire.

“Good. That’s exactly how I wanted to look,” she said with a smile. “Come in. I only need to grab my purse and I’m ready.”

I followed her in. The last time I was too jacked up to notice anything. Now, I looked around her living room while she wentto the bedroom. She had a small bookshelf and I went to it and perused her tastes in books. A set of hardbacks about the French Revolution. That was a surprise. I opened one and found out some man called Dan had given the books to her.

Hope you find the contents of the pages as exciting as I did.

With all my love, Dan.

I hated Dan instantly and violently. If he had been standing in front of me then I’d have punched him in the jaw. Warning bells went off in my head, but for once, I didn’t want to heed them. It would have been very satisfying to punch the pretentious idiot’s teeth in. See how much he enjoyed the French Revolution then.

I shoved the book back into its place and turned away to look around me. The room was small, but feminine and cozy. I looked for signs of hidden wealth, but there were none. She was poor and it showed. That must have been why it was so easy to buy her.

Lillian returned a minute later carrying a clutch bag and a soft shawl around her shoulders. “I’m ready.”

I couldn’t stop staring at her. She looked so beautiful.
