“Yep. She’s got her hands full with Creed.” He shook his head. “My boy is wild.”

I moved closer to Rowen and pressed my hand against her lower back, touching her enough to soothe my Reaper. He didn’t like all these males around our woman.

“The Sergeant at Arms, Rael. His twin brother, Chrome.”

She nodded to each of them.

“And one of the newest members, Shadow.”

“I just met Stefanie. She’s lovely.”

“She is. Nice to meet you, Rowen.”

“This is Wraith.”

I flung my hand out and hit him in the gut as he grunted. I didn’t forget what he said a few minutes earlier about me and getting my dick up at my age. Fucker.

Wraith smirked. “My ol’ lady is by the swings. You probably met Tawni.”

“I did. She’s sweet. I told her she should lie down since she was feeling tired. Early pregnancy, you know.”

Wraith stilled. “What?”

Rowen slapped a hand over her mouth. “Shit,” she whispered. “It’s a secret?”

Wraith never replied and ran toward Tawni, calling her name. His hand rested against her stomach as she nodded. A cry of joy left his lips as he lifted her, swinging them around as she laughed. He crushed her mouth with a hard kiss as whistles erupted around us.

“Wraith and Tawni have Zane,” I explained, “but he’s seventeen. They didn’t think they could have any others.”

Rowen’s eyes grew glassy as she blinked back tears. “How wonderful for them.”

Until now, I hadn’t let the idea of being childless bother me. I figured I was too old now to consider it. I would turn forty-five this summer. But meeting Rowen and Jacob created a longing for fatherhood and settling down. I didn’t want to chase pussy for the rest of my life. I got pickier the older I became.

My fingers brushed Rowen’s spine and caressed the bare skin of her elbow as I lowered my head, realizing I had no interest in another woman because I had found the one I wanted.

“Mammoth?”

“Yeah, Gorgeous?”

“Can we talk? Alone?”

I didn’t know what to expect but hoped she wasn’t about to break my fucking heart.

This uncertainty was new to me. No one could ever describe me as the man who fell first or hardest. I never found a woman who gave me a reason to risk heartbreak. That didn’t mean I mistreated them. I loved having a woman in my bed but never cared to have one stand by my side.

Until Rowen.

And fuck, I wanted her in every way.

I led her away from the guys and around the side of the clubhouse. Xenon’s cameras were recording like they always did, but he wouldn’t eavesdrop. It wasn’t his style unless it affected the club or posed a threat.

“Why did you bring me here, Mammoth?”

I blinked. Her question confused me. “I thought you would enjoy it. Same with Jacob.”

She shook her head. “I know that part.” Her hand lifted and rested against my chest. “But why did you want me here? What do I mean to you?”

Fuck. Someone must have talked some shit to her. Was she worried I only wanted a fling? A few nights of sex before I turned to someone new?
