Page 42 of Owned By Frank
Frank’s POV.
Grace staggers and I see her body struggling not to fall. Before she falls apart, I'm faster and I hold her.
Her eyes are closed, her skin is pale.
- Grace? Grace opens your eyes! - I say holding her against my body.
I touch her forehead and open my eyes in amazement. She is burning with fever.
- Shit!
I take her waist and legs to carry her in my arms. I hold her close to me and embrace her. When the cleaning ladies come out, they look at me in horror.
- Get me a cloth and some cold water, now!
They drop the cleaning instruments and run off in a hurry.
I climb the stairs carefully and in the corridors I meet none other than Dante.
He looks at me in confusion when he sees that Grace has become unconscious. Of course, I'm not the only one who cares about her this much.
- What happened? - he says trying to get closer but I stop him.
- Call the doctor! - is the only thing I say before entering my room.
I'm holding Grace in bed and that's when one of the ladies brings me what I previously asked for.
I look at Grace and pray she doesn't wake up and kill me for what I'm about to do.
I take off her sweater and scarf leaving only the t-shirt which leaves her bra perfectly visible.
I take the cloth and dip it in the cold water and then start my work. I go over her forehead, her neck and her chest.
My jacket makes me uncomfortable so I take it off and throw it away unimportantly.
I roll up my sleeves and continue to work until the door opens in a hurry. Through it, Dante and an older man enter so I guess it's the doctor.
He approaches and immediately opens his briefcase. He takes out certain objects and starts to check her. Why does he have to fucking touch her?! Only I can touch her! No no, Stop it, he's a doctor!
- What is her name? - he asks.
- Grace! - Dante and I say at the same time.
We both looked at each other with disgust.
- Age? - he asks.
This time we kept quiet.
- Relatives? - he says rolling his eyes.
- I am his cousin. - I turn my head to look at Dante.
- Please come to us. - says the doctor.
- I am her fiancé. - I say with pride.
- In that case it is preferable that you come.
