Chapter 20

Flynn

“So what do you have planned for today?” Flynn asked. He held the phone to one ear and rummaged through the bus’s mini fridge. He settled on a canned soda. He cracked it open one-handed then slid onto the bench seat of the built-in table. He slurped the cold cola into his mouth and swallowed.

“We have a radio interview this afternoon,” Polly said. “I’m having lunch with Gideon first.”

Flynn’s stomach did somersaults as a wave of possessiveness hit him. “Gideon? As in Gideon Trent from the awards show?”

“Yeah. We’re in the same city and he wants to talk about music. I figured it wouldn’t hurt anything. Jade and I are meeting him for lunch.”

Flynn sucked in a deep breath then released it. Different thoughts crossed his mind. Gideon was a player. Polly wouldn’t be safe around him. He could steal her away. On the other hand, Polly was strong willed and wouldn’t do anything with Gideon. She’d been cheated on before. And she was loyal. She wouldn’t go there.

Ultimately, Flynn trusted her.

He rapped his knuckles on the table and made a decision. She was right; it wouldn’t hurt anything. He and Polly both lived in the spotlight. This would happen again. He couldn’t live in fear or be unfair to Polly.

He said, “I won’t lie. I don’t like him.”

“I’m sorry. I can —”

“No,” he interrupted. “Let me finish.”

She stopped talking. “Okay, go ahead.”

“I don’t like him. But I trust you. I won’t be a caveman. I hope you have a nice lunch today. Tell Jade hi for me.”

Polly breathed an audible sigh of relief. “Thank you. Don’t worry about Gideon. I’m all yours.”

He smiled. “I know. I trust you.”

“What do you have planned for today?”

“I’m on the bus all day. I’ll be on the internet and playing video games.” He lowered his voice. “Maybe looking at some of our naughty pictures later.”

Polly laughed. “Oh yeah?”

“Oh yeah.” Flynn laughed. “The sexiest woman in the world is mine and let me take risqué pictures of her. You bet I’m looking at those at every chance I get — and remembering what we did while taking them.”

“Well you know, if you wait long enough, I can probably join you later.”

Flynn cleared his throat. “Well then, I’m definitely calling dibs on the bus’s bedroom tonight. Video chat?”

Polly

Lovely Oblivion sat inside the spacious radio studio, headsets with microphones on everyone.

“What type of sound can we expect on the new album?” the blond, female DJ asked.

“We have new songs but stay true to the sound our fans love,” Bex said. “I think the new album will get a lot of love when it’s released.”

“Do you have a release date yet?”

“Not yet, but it will be next spring. Keep your ears open for the official date.”

“Awesome, I will. Jade, Bex, fans are dying to know: what’s it like having your significant other tour with you all the time?”
