Hook met my heated stare head-on, his expression uncharacteristically violent. “Dragons aren’t the only ones interested in treasure, Kai. There’s not much a pirate wouldn’t do in his quest for a rare jewel or trinket, let alone an entire trove.”

“Are you two actually fighting over me like two dogs with a bone?”

“Yes,” Cas said.

“Nae,” I countered.

“Maybe you should tattoo a big X on me, you know, to mark the spot.”

“I don’t need any help finding your spot, darling.”

I couldn’t help myself; I reached over and bodily shoved Caspian away. I couldn’t stand the way he was leering at her.

“And here I thought you were all getting along so well,” Dahlia said with a long sigh. “So much for the orgies.”

Hook was nearly comical in his reaction. He went from murderously glaring at me to abruptly stopping, snapping his head to look at Dahlia and blinking twice. “I’m sorry. What about orgies?”

Dahlia fought hard to hide her smile. “Nothing, apparently, since you two don’t know how to play nice.”

Caspian sauntered to my side and slung his arm around my neck. “Sure we do. We’re best mates, aren’t we, dragon?”

If he wasn’t careful, I was likely to take his head off. “Unhand me.”

“So formal. I sucked your fingers just the other day. Remember that? We’ve seen each other’s pricks. We’re beyond niceties.”

Dahlia moaned, her face turning a lovely shade of pink. “God, Cas. You can’t just lob things like you sucking me off Kai’s fingers like sexy little grenades and not do anything about them.”

“My favorite kind of bombs are love bombs. And who said I wasn’t going to do anything about it? Lie back on that rock, and I’ll take care of you right here for anyone to see.”

“A rock, really? At least use the tree and spare Dahlia’s poor arse.”

Dahlia pointed at me. “Man has a point. Rocks hurt.”

“The mermaids never seemed to mind it,” Cas said with a shrug, “but who am I to judge? A rock, a tree, the ground... wherever, whenever, darling.”

“And then there were three,” Dahlia murmured, sending a confused look skittering across Cas’s face, but I saw exactly who she was talking about.

Tor emerged from the trees, bits of dirt streaking his face, but an air of calm coming from him. He’d been hunting again.

“I’m doomed to never have ye to myself, aren’t I?” I whispered into her hair.

“It looks like it.”

“Oh, and there’s the full house,” I grumbled, Cain coming into view a little ways down the path.

“Where one goes, the others follow,” Dahlia said.

“Nae, love. Where you go, the rest of us follow.”

Tor strode straight for her, gripped her by the nape, and tugged her hard into his body. He claimed her lips without a word, and the way she melted into him would’ve made me jealous if she didn’t do the same for me.

“Well, fancy seeing you misfits all in one place,” Cain said, closing the distance between us, Asshole yipping and jumping up on Dahlia’s calves.

“Is this just going to be my life now? All of us wandering the grounds and trying to find quiet places for the orgies where Joffrey can’t find us?” Dahlia teased.

“No, Kærasta. When we get out of here, I’m going to create a home we can all share so we’re not all on top of one another all the time.”

“Can my room have a ship theme?” Hook asked.
