The sound of applause suddenly interrupts us, drawing our attention. Turning toward the source, our friends and family are gathered, all eyes on us. Our dads are shaking their heads in mock disapproval, while Wyatt sports a wide grin. Payson and Brooke are chatting animatedly, their faces lit up with joy as they glance my way. I return their smiles. Then, I notice our moms in their own little circle, thrilled; their laughter and chatter a sign of their happiness.

Luke's voice cuts through the air. "Put my sister down, you Neanderthal!"

Chuckling, I shake my head. Miles, undeterred, calls back to Luke, "I just got her back. She's not going anywhere, Sutton. Not now, not ever," he whispers the last part, sending a wave of joy through me.

I can't deny it; I'm completely smitten.

He turns to me, his grin infectious. "Seems like they're pretty happy for us."

I nudge his shoulder, laughing along with him as our family and friends head back into the restaurant, leaving us to our moment once more.

Leaning in, Miles asks in a teasing tone, "Ready for the real celebration tonight?"

I raise an eyebrow, joining in the banter. "Is that a challenge, Sunshine?"

He shrugs nonchalantly, but his eyes are alight with excitement and anticipation. "Guess you'll have to wait and see, huh, Mills?"

I smile warmly at him. "I love you, Miles Chasen."

He nudges me back, responding, "I know."

I retort, "Hey, you're supposed to say it back."

He sees right through my act, leaning in to plant a soft kiss on my lips. Pulling away, he affirms, "And I love you too, baby, more than you could ever imagine." The sincerity in his voice wraps around me like a warm embrace, confirming that everything we've been through has led us to this perfect moment.

"Challenge accepted, baby," I declare with a grin. The thrill was in my veins even before we stepped out of the restaurant. I always knew I'd be ready for whatever challenge Miles threw my way. It's our thing, isn't it?

"God, Mills, you have no idea how long I've been craving this—to touch you again, to hold you in my arms, to claim you as mine," he breathes out, his voice a low, seductive rumble as my back presses against the door of his house. His words fan the flames of a fire already raging within us.

Damn, he's just so sexy in these moments, completely and utterly mine.

The reality still feels like a dream—I mean, Miles Chasen, my lifelong best friend, now my lover.

God, I am the luckiest woman ever.

He hoists me up effortlessly, and my legs encircle his waist. It feels like our own unique dance, and I wouldn't change a thing. Chills dance across my skin as our lips unite. Our hands lock together, guiding us to his bedroom. Falling onto his bed sends waves of nostalgia crashing over me, memories of our first time here enveloping me.

That day seems like a distant memory, yet it's as vivid as if it were happening right now. I watch, lips parted, as Miles strips off his clothes—jeans first, then shirt, in that effortless way that's so him. Watching him now, touching him, being held in his embrace, I'm struck by the realization that there's no need to worry about the future, no need to ponder his thoughts afterward. I can just be in the moment. I can relish this time with him, now and always.

Because he is mine.

Isn't it just incredible? Knowing he's mine?

"Nope, because, baby, you're mine," he declares, his tone deep and possessive as he hovers over me.

Did I really just say that aloud?

He gives me that smirk, the one I love so much, and says, "Yeah, you did, and I'm dying to hear it again and again. Might even rival 'I love you' as my favorite phrase."

My eyebrow arches, my hands exploring his sculpted back, his firm form. I teasingly comment, "So, 'you're mine' gets you going, does it?"

His reply is cut short as I quickly silence him with my hand, suggesting, "How about less chatter, more...catching up?"

His grin is wicked as he kisses me, starting from my jaw, making his way down to my neck, playfully teasing, before continuing his journey with soft kisses. His gaze locks with mine, and he whispers seductively, "I'm all for that, and so much more, baby."

A thrill of anticipation surges through me, my toes curling in delight. And oh, he promises so much more than just words.
