“After I got home, it was just awful. There were photos of us in magazines, and I was tired, and Judith was just such a bitch, and—”
“You quit?”
“I told her to shove her course up her arse.”
Reece claps his hand across his mouth. “You didn’t.”
I shrug. “I did.”
He snorts, and it makes me laugh as I think back to Delaney’s reaction.
“Want to know what I think?” he asks.
“Do I have a choice?”
He leans in and brushes his lips to my skin, just under my ear. “I’m just surprised you didn’t do it sooner.”
“That’s exactly what Delaney said.”
He pulls away, that soppy look all over his face again. “Because we both know you so well.”
I cock my head, reaching for his hand. “Well, technically, you know me just a little better.”
“How do you figure that?”
“I’ve never had sex with Delaney.” At that, he laughs so loudly, heads turn and I clamp my lips together, shaking my head. “I think that might be our cue to leave.”
He kisses my temple. “Works for me. The sooner I get you home, the sooner I can get you naked.”
“You and your one track mind. I’ll just say goodbye to Delaney.”
“We’ll wave to them on the way out.” He stands and extends his hand. “Let’s go home.”
“Home?”
I take his hand and let him pull me to my feet.
“Well, Josh’s place. I’ve sold my apartment and I’m waiting on the house we bought to settle. Yesterday, I spent my last night in my apartment.”
I screw up my nose. “Damn it.”
Reece shrugs. “We could break in, but there’s no bed. But there’s a big comfy one at Josh’s place.”
Grinning, I squeeze his hand. “That sounds wonderful to me.”
“When did you get here?”
I bite my bottom lip. “Yesterday.”
His eyes narrow. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“This was Delaney’s idea, and I wanted to surprise you.”
He wraps his arms around me. “And we could have had one more night together.”
I place a kiss on his jaw. “What’s one night when we have forever?”
“Oooh you’re good.”
