That smug expression crossed his face. “Oh, but I can, baby girl. Finish eating, and then you need to lay down for a nap.”
“Don’t want a nap,” she answered after taking her last bite.
“You need a nap. You are being a cranky Little girl, and you’ve yawned three times while you’ve been eating.”
Her being cranky? No way.
“I’m only yawning because you’re boring me to tears.”
Shit. She probably shouldn’t have said that. That was so rude. But instead of looking angry, Kane snorted.
“Little girl, you are taking a nap whether you like it or not. Doctor’s orders. Do you want me to tuck you in?”
Yes, she wanted that.
“No!” she snapped.
She stood to take her plate to the kitchen, but he took it from her.
“Up you go. I’ll be up in a minute to give you some medicine.”
She scrunched her nose but walked upstairs to her room. She needed to not be such a brat to him. He was only trying to help, and she was being rude and ungrateful. She should just do what he said so she wouldn’t be such a bother. He would get tired of her and send her away, and she really hated the thought of that. She didn’t want to be away from him. She wanted to be as close to him as possible.
You dumb bitch, you are so stupid! Stop being such a needy bitch! Nobody wants a child for a girlfriend.
Tim’s words played through her head, and she shuddered. He was right, though. Nobody wanted some needy woman who slept with a stuffed animal, sucked her thumb, and watched cartoons. Men wanted women in sexy lingerie, not someone who wore pajamas with animals printed on them.
However, the Daddy Doms did like those things in the books she’d read. They wanted their Littles to do that kind of stuff and wear those kinds of clothes. But those Daddies were fictional, and that wasn’t real life. Even though Kane had said he was a Daddy Dom, it didn’t mean that he liked that kind of stuff. He might just enjoy being called Daddy during sex. Jealousy ran through her at the thought of him having sex with other women. She didn’t like that thought at all.
Okay, why are you getting jealous over Kane having sex with other women? He isn’t your man.
She frowned as she changed into a pair of pajamas and climbed into bed. She didn’t like that she was feeling something toward Kane. She barely knew him, and she’d just gotten out of the shittiest relationship ever. She should want nothing to do with any man. But Kane… he was different than anyone she’d ever met before.
A light knock on the door startled her from her thoughts. She called out for him to come in.
“Ready for your medicine?”
She couldn’t help but scrunch her nose again. Yucky grape stuff. He chuckled and walked in, sitting on the edge of the bed next to her.
“You’d think I was torturing you with that face you’re making.”
She stuck her lip out in a slight pout. “Sorry, I just hate that yucky stuff.”
Okay. Way to sound grown-up. She sounded like a small child, and she knew it, but she couldn’t help it. Kane leaned over and booped her nose.
“I guess it’s a good thing I got the orange kind, then, huh?”
Her eyes lit up, and she clapped her hands.
Kane smiled. “Does that mean you’ll take your medicine like a good Little girl?”
She nodded enthusiastically. “Yep, sure will.”
She wasn’t about to point out that she wasn’t a Little girl, mostly because she didn’t want him to give her the grape kind instead and also because she kind of liked being referred to as a good Little girl. Kane measured out the medicine and held the small measuring cup to her lips, keeping his gaze locked with hers as she drank it down.
“That’s a good girl.”
She beamed up at him. “Much yummier.”
