“Okay, Daddy. I’m just so excited to see her. But we still need cookies.”

HAYLEE

Haylee could hardly contain her excitement to see her best friend. She wiggled and squirmed as Kane got her dressed until he threatened to warm her bottom before Ally came. Grumbling to herself, she stayed as still as she could while he finished. Then, when she bounded down the stairs, he sternly told her to slow down or else.

Geez, protective much?

But she loved that about him, and the past three weeks had been heaven. Even though she’d been spanked way too many times to count in that time, she had fallen in love and felt more secure with Kane every single day. He was in tune with all of her emotions and stayed vigilant at all times. Most of the time, she had been happy and in a good mood, but once in a while, she got down on herself about the fact that she’d stayed with Tim for so long. Whenever that had happened, Kane had held her and reassured her that she’d done what she needed to do to survive. He constantly reminded her how precious she was to him and that he would always be there for her through the good and the bad.

She’d agreed to hold off on going back to work. Initially, she was reluctant because she felt bad for not contributing financially, but Kane insisted that he didn’t need her to contribute and that if she needed anything at all, he would provide it for her. She hadn’t told him yet, but she was enjoying being his stay-at-home Little girl.

He’d finally let her start cooking, except that she had to ask him to put stuff in and out of the oven, and she had to use butter knives to cut things up unless she wanted him to do it. He raved about her cooking, and she was starting to feel more confident with trying new recipes. Making meals for her Daddy felt good, and she felt like she was doing her part to take care of him.

A knock on the door had her bouncing on her tiptoes.

Kane grinned and shook his head. “Such an excited Little girl.”

“Open the door, Daddy!”

Kane opened the door, and Ally ran into the house.

“Slow down!” Luke said sternly.

Ally bounced over to Haylee, and they hugged excitedly.

“I missed you so much! I’m so excited I’m here! I have a whole list of things for us to do,” Ally said.

Kane chuckled. “You and her both, little one.”

“Daddy, can we go up and play?” Haylee asked.

“Yes, but behave and walk. No running, or we’ll bust your butts.”

Grabbing Ally’s hand, she tugged her up the stairs to the nursery. Once they were inside the room, they sat on the floor with a pile of Barbies.

“Oh my gosh, being grounded was the worst thing ever.”

“I know. It was worse than the spanking, and Daddy spanked my butt hard with a hairbrush,” Ally said, her cheeks turning pink.

“My Daddy used a paddle on me. But yeah, being grounded was way worse.”

They giggled and hugged again.

“I’m so glad you are safe and that Tim is in jail. Are things going good with Kane?”

Haylee blushed this time. “Yes. He’s the best. I love him so much.”

Ally clapped her hands and bounced on her knees.

They played for a long time, bouncing from one set of toys to another. When Kane and Luke appeared in the doorway, Kane looked like his eyes were going to bug out.

“Girls, this room is a disaster. Did a tornado go through here?”

Haylee looked around and winced. There were toys all over the floor, nearly covering every square inch of the room except where they were sitting.

“Sorry, Daddy. We got excited,” she answered innocently.

She gave him the sweetest smile she could and batted her eyes at him.
