“Get fucked,” Zane snarks, making Griffin laugh harder as he gives Zane a wink.

“It wasn’t my place to tell. I do agree, you had a lot going on. But unlike them, I needed to tell you. I’ve known for a lot longer about being scent matched to you, and I couldn’t hold it in anymore.”

She takes a moment to just stand there, staring at him. The room stands silent as we wait for her reaction, for her to say or do something.

“Are there any more secrets? Anything else you’re keeping from me? Because I’m giving you all one shot to get everything out on the table. If I find out any of you are lying to me—or withholding information from me—after today, it’s not going to be good,” she warns, shooting us all a glare as she crosses her arms.

“Nothing.” I shake my head.

Griffin slowly raises his hand, and Jade huffs. “Yes, Griffin?”

“Does like, secret kinks count? Because there’s a lot of them, and I’m not ready to show all my cards yet,” he asks, his cheeks pinkening.

Both Zane and I look at him with curiosity.

“No,” Jade huffs out a laugh.

“Calvin is a serial killer!” Zane blurts out, and all of our attention swings to him.

“Fucking hell, Zane!” Calvin growls. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”

“You just fucking heard what she said.” Zane waves a hand toward Jade. “And that's a big fucking thing to find out later on.”

Jade spins around and gapes up at Calvin. “Is he being for real right now?”

Calvin sighs, like he’s finished with the lot of us. Scrubbing his face with a hand, he looks at Jade. “Yes and no.”

“What the heck does that mean?” She blinks and yes, I kind of want to know that too.

“Dude, are you like an assassin?” Griffin asks, his eyes lighting up with excitement.

“No.” Calvin gives him a droll look before bringing his attention back to Jade. “Look, I’ve done things to really bad people who have deserved it. I’m not an evil guy, and I don’t just go around offing people for no reason.”

“But you’ve taken a life before,” she whispers. Calvin nods, face hard. “When you say bad people you mean...”

“People who enjoy hurting others,” Calvin grunts. “And I don’t go looking for them. If it happens, it happens.”

“So, the people in London?” Jade asks, and Calvin nods again.

“If it means keeping you safe, Jade, I’d kill every single person who lays a fucking finger on you and not even blink.”

Jade’s pupils dilate as her breathing spikes. We all groan as her peaches and cream perfume fills the air.

“Naughty, Trouble.” Zane chuckles. “Does Calvin killing people turn you on?”

“Fuck off,” Jade mutters, shooting Zane a glare, but it only makes him laugh.

“Does this... change anything?” Calvin asks her, his eyes searching hers.

“No.” She slowly shakes her head. “Because I know you would never hurt me.”

“I’d rather die than ever hurt you, Darling,” Calvin vows.

“Fucking hell,” Jade sighs. “What is wrong with me? How is this even my life?” She moves away from us and sits down on the couch, letting her head rest against the back with her eyes closed.

We all stand there, looking at each other, waiting. We’re not sure what to do or where to go with this. This is on her terms.

“Ah, Jelly Bean, you good?” Griffin questions after a minute of silence.
