I thought about this long and hard before I decided that yes, yes, it would.

I, Plain Jane, would be a fucking diva in the bedroom. Literally.

I laughed aloud as I pictured smoking-hot men lining up to experience my magical abilities.

As long as I don’t get caught, that is.

Chapter Thirty-One

Today was not only Friday, but it was also the first day of July, which meant I was officially halfway through my challenge. It was difficult to comprehend what I’d done so far this year, and my heart fluttered as I contemplated what wonderful surprises were yet to come.

I didn’t have to wait long. The first surprise was Needledick actually walking through the front doors prior to his shift. It was the first time he’d been early in more than a year.

The second surprise walked in right alongside my boss. Mr. Hunter McCall, my perfect stranger from a couple of months ago. My sexy chocolatier wore a tiny pair of shorts and jogging shoes, and based on the fine sheen of sweat covering his body, he’d been outside doing an exercise regime, probably similar to the punishing one I’d witnessed him doing the last time he was here.

Needledick and Hunter laughed together, sharing a private joke as they walked toward me, and I quickly tugged my hair out of my bun and tousled it around my face in some lame attempt to avoid Hunter recognizing me.

My panic attack was foolish because Hunter only knew me as Memphis, yet I couldn’t help it.

As the men neared reception, I swallowed the lump in my throat and tried to ignore my thundering heartbeat as I studied them. They were complete opposites in every way.

While Hunter could be the lead actor on some kind of outdoor reality show, Needledick had sickly white skin, a physique that showed his lack of attention to his body, and a creepy smile.

Hunter said goodbye, tossed me a cursory wave, and then headed toward the elevator. I was torn between watching his sexy butt and turning my attention to my boss.

How could Hunter have stayed here, and yet I missed him?

“Morning.” Needledick opened the top drawer to toss his keys in.

“Morning.” I had to find out which room Hunter was staying in without my boss watching me. All I needed was two seconds on the computer. Normally, as soon as Needledick arrived, I escaped as quickly as I could.

“Has it been busy?” He put his hands together above his head and stretched as if he’d just woken up.

“Just a typical Thursday night. Nothing special.”

Except for one of my previous sexual partners popping in unannounced.

Needledick went into the staff room with his lunch, presumably to put it in the fridge, and I jumped straight onto the check-in screen on the computer and typed in Hunter McCall.

The fact that I even remembered Hunter’s surname was not only a miracle, given that there’d been about a dozen men since him, but it also showed how much it suited him. Hunter McCall had it all going on, and his name was just the beginning.

“What’re you doing?” Needledick’s accusatory tone was like nails up my back, and I jumped.

“I was just finishing off some stuff.” The name Hunter McCall was like a blazing hazard symbol in the search button on the screen.

“Want me to do it?”

I just about fell off my chair. This was a first. He never offered to do anything for me. “No. No. It’s okay.” I pressed the enter button, and after a millisecond, the screen changed to Hunter’s details, and I quickly scanned the data. He was in room four.

“What are you looking for?” Needledick was right behind me.

“Oh, ummm.” I cleared my throat. “Mr. McCall wanted a wake-up call tomorrow, but I haven’t had time to do it yet.” I cringed at my terrible lie.

Needledick mumbled something under his breath, and as he watched over my shoulder, I recorded a wake-up call on Hunter’s room details for seven o’clock tomorrow.

How had I become so evil?

I clicked off the screen, said goodbye to Needledick, and headed up to my room.
