Smiling, I felt myself falling more and more. I wanted to take her to all those places. Let her experience the world with me by her side.

“Maybe someday you and I can visit some of those places.”

“I’d love that…very much.”

We stared at one another for the longest time, and I knew if I didn’t look away I’d be pushing her over the table, to hell with no condom.

“I need to warn you about dinner tomorrow night.”

She swallowed hard. “Warn me? That doesn’t sound good.”

“No, it’s nothing like that. So, the family is big on game night. And for some reason, anytime someone new comes into the fold, game night gets pretty…intense.”

“I love games.”

I let out a worried chuckle. “I’m glad, but I have no idea what kind of games they plan on doing. Sometimes it’s charades, Pictionary, Monopoly—which, trust me, you never want to get involved in a game of that with any of the Shaw family, especially Hunter or Blayze. But they also do a lot of made-up games. I don’t think they’ll do that tomorrow, with you being there. But then again, my mother mentioned my father came up with the game, and there was some mention of potatoes…”

She nodded, and I could tell she was trying not to laugh. “Duly warned. No Monopoly, and game night is taken very seriously. Got it.”

I winked. “Everyone is going to love you.”

Her cheeks blushed. “Well, if I’m being honest, the only person I care about liking me is currently sitting across from me at this table.”

Leaning over said table, I smiled. “I more than like you, Kenzie. I’m falling head over heels for you.”

A soft breath escaped from her lips. “Oh, Bradly. I think I’ve already fallen.”

Our eyes met. “So do I, Kenzie.”

Chapter Thirteen

MACKENZIE

The words were out of my mouth before I could stop them. Were we really admitting to falling in love with each other after only a couple of days?

“This is crazy,” Bradly said, as I nodded.

“It is.”

“But it feels right.”

I smiled. “It does.”

He stood, and I followed. He rounded the table and had me in his arms before I could take a single breath. Pressing his mouth to mine, we soon got lost in the kiss. My fingers tangled in his hair, and I gently pulled, causing him to let out a soft moan. Just as our hands started to work at our clothes, Bradly’s phone began to ring.

Not again.

Ripping his mouth from mine, he cursed. “Shit. It’s my mother. She wouldn’t be interrupting us if it wasn’t important.”

I took a few steps back and drew in some deep breaths. Thank goodness his mother called, or we might have done something stupid. I quickly started to clean up the table as he walked into the kitchen to take the call.

“Hey, Mom. No, no, we just finished eating. What? She’s at the house? No, I wasn’t expecting her. We still have to pack up and ride back to the farm.”

I busied myself with getting everything back into the basket and gathered up the paper plates we’d used. I wasn’t sure if I should walk into the kitchen or not. The last thing I would ever want was for Bradly to think I was being nosy.

“What do you mean, she’s staying at the house? Why can’t she stay at a hotel in town?”

That caused me to stop. Who were they talking about, and why did Bradly sound so agitated?
