Page 38 of The Betrayal
Ari is back in the room, while I make her coffee. Little milk and two sugars. It’s mad to think that she has been living here for only three months. It’s a home with her, but I know this won’t last forever. She will go back to her actual home. So, until then, I am going to enjoy every minute.
Turning, I waltz towards the girls and place them down. They fall into easy conversation, and I join them. Arizona eyes me.
“Do you mind?”
“Nope,”
Ari’s tone is curt and I know I’ve rumbled her.
Don’t care.
Will still try and devour her again.
Her pussy is too good.
“Lucy, how’s work?” I ask, brows lifting as I bring my cup to my lips. Who would have thought, me, Keaton fucking Mills would be sitting here on my Saturday morning with two—this is going to sound harsh, but it’s also true—strippers.
I mean? Is that the right term?
“Not too bad, was nice to see a familiar face last night,” she gives me a smirk, cheeks blushing, and I feel a swift blow to my shin.
Fuck. My teeth grind.
“Private dance?” Arizona’s body is turned towards Lucy.
“Something like that,” she drops her face, and I don’t miss the sly smirk on her lips.
Arizona glares at me. Fuck’s sake.
“It wasn’t anything like that,” I take a mouthful, burning my tongue and instantly regret it.
“What was it like then?” Arizona’s elbows perched on the table, hands resting under her chin and her eyes are burning into mine.
“She danced. Didn’t touch her. Was literally just a dance; Lucy, tell her,”
Lucy rolls her eyes and looks at Ari.
“It was just a dance,” she huffs, “I tried pushing for a little more but mister grumpy over here wasn’t having any of it,” she flicks her eyes back to mine.
“See?”
“Why does it matter to you so much?” she asks, and Ari stays quiet.
“Probably because I’m her dad’s best friend... little close to home maybe?”
Ari’s cheeks flame a shameful pink.
“And what?” Lucy’s brows pinch, “Is it because you have a crush?” she taunts.
Oh, Arizona.
“Luce!” She slams her cup onto the table, spilling some coffee and her eyes widen at her friend’s admission.
“What? It’s true, you’ve had a crush on him for what feels like foreverrrrr,” she drags out the last word.
“Don’t listen to her,” Ari crosses her arms in front of her chest.
Too late.
