Page 7 of Accidental Orc Daddy

Okay, deep breath. I open the door to the bathroom to find all the girls standing there, who let out a collective cheer, claps, and hoots. I blush, then giggle.

“Would you look at that? It’s Cinderella all dressed up for the ball,” Sandra shouts.

“Thank you, ladies,” I tell them and do a little bow. “Now, I need a drink.”

“Get that girl a drink,” Sandra shouts out, and before I know it, I have a cool glass of champagne in my hand.

“Speech! Speech!” the girls call out.

I take a large mouthful of my champagne and feel its effects immediately. And boy, does it feel good.

“Listen, I wanna thank you all for being here for me. It means a lot. And before I forget, I’d like to raise a toast to Duncan.”

A few of the ladies hiss.

“Because he is paying for it all, so ladies, spend, spend, spend!” Which is greeted by the most fearsome collective of approval that I have ever experienced.

“That’s the spirit, baby,” Sandra says. “Now sit over here so we can have a good chat.”

We walk out onto the balcony, and the warm, salty breeze of a hot night washes over us as we sit down. The stars are bright, and the sound of waves crashing can be heard in the distance.

“So tell me, now that you’re a free woman again, you’re gonna get yourself out there and sample some of the goods on offer, right?” Sandra says, poking me.

“I’m okay with just me for a while,” I reply.

“Nothing wrong with that, but come on, look at you. You’re young and pretty, and you’ve got a great job. You need to spice up that bucket list of yours,” Sandra tells me.

“My bucket list is perfectly fine the way it is,” I reply.

“Visiting the Federal Bank of Switzerland is hardly going to blow your socks off, baby,” Sandra says.

“I know, I know, I need to be more daring, but it’s just not me. Sticking it to Duncan the way I did took all the nerve I think I have for a lifetime,” I tell her.

“How do you know until you try?” Sandra says.

“What, like that time in Mexico when you pinched that cop’s ass?” I remind her.

“Exactly like that!” Sandra says.

“You spent the night in jail,” I reply.

“I got to meet some interesting people,” Sandra jokes.

“How is Carlos?” I ask.

“In jail. Look, all I’m saying is spice it up, girl. Let me think,” Sandra says.

“Please don’t,” I reply, putting my head in my hands.

“I got it!” Sandra excitedly exclaims. “Have you ever? Oh, of course, you haven’t. Why am I even asking you?”

“What?” I reply

“Got yourself…” Sandra whispers. “Some orc action?”

“An orc? Are you kidding? They’re huge things,” I say, pushing Sandra away.

“I know.” Sandra raises her eyebrows.
