“Um, okay.”

“That’s a boy who knows what Daddy he wants and isn’t afraid to go for it.” Jensen laughed. “Better go catch him, Daddy T.”

I wandered down the hall, following the string of giggles and whispers. As I approached the open door, it hit me that I was the source of all that.

“You like-like him,” Henry sang to Jamie.

“I do. He’s nice, he feeds me sushi, he likes animals. And he’s nice.”

“He-he, you already said that. You can’t say it twice.”

“Uh-huh, I can. But he smells good and likes my hugs.”

That I did. “Knock-knock.” I rapped my knuckles against the door frame. “What are you two up to?”

“Daddy T! Daddy T!” Jamie hopped up and ran over to me. “Tell Henry you like my hugs.”

“I don’t like your hugs, sweet boy, I love them.” That was enough for Jamie to give me another.

He took my hand and led me over to their mess. “Henry loves unicorns. His favorite stuffy is a unicorn named Merlin.”

“I can see that.” He had an incredible one-of-a-kind playroom complete with a custom unicorn bed with a hooded overhang in the shape of a head and horn. “This room is amazing.” The walls were painted in a pale baby blue with unicorns, rainbows, and cloud decals on two of the three walls and the third was lined with white shelves filled with toys, books, and stuffies.

“My Daddies are the bestest!” Henry cheered as the pony he played with galloped into a wall of building blocks. “Fall down, go boom.”

Sweet Jamie clapped and cheered as his monkey swooped down from the heavens to stomp through the remains. Pure unadulterated pleasure. Not a care in the world did these two boys have as they played and knew full well their Daddies were here to protect and care for them.

I wanted to be that Daddy to Jamie with every fiber of my being.

“Someone’s enamored with a certain little.” Leave it to Jensen to call me out and in earshot of said boy.

“That’s putting it mildly.” I groaned. “What am I doing, Jensen? I fucked up my last relationship. What makes me think I won’t do it again?”

“The way you look at Jamie says it all. You won’t.”

Too bad my brain thought otherwise.

“Come on, let’s finish off that wine. No one’s driving tonight and the boys are fine.”

Thank fuck for that because my heart couldn’t take being away from Jamie for too long. One week and I was already gone. What did that say about me?

Fucking heart…

Chapter Three

Daddy T walked away with Henry’s Daddies, but I heard everything they said. I pretended to play but couldn’t help it. Well, I could’ve. Maybe. But I didn’t want to. I was sad he wasn’t watching us play anymore but still happy to be here with my friend.

“He likes you, don’t worry,” Henry said as his pony stomped around and made a big mess.

“Do you think so?” I mean I thought he did if what he said was true, but it sounded like he had some stuff to work through.

Henry rolled his eyes so hard I was surprised they didn’t stick in his brain. “Of course, silly. He watched you the whole time. Besides, I know you heard what he said.”

“Let’s clean up. I’m hungry.”

“You’re a big fibber, Jamie. You just want to follow your Daddy.” Henry’s dramatic sigh was award-winning, but he helped me clean up. Henry skipped toward the kitchen while I trailed behind him, unsure of how to act now.

“What’s wrong, sweet boy?” Daddy T had on his worried face again.
