“What about Ryder?! I don’t want to just leave him!” Blossom gasped into the phone.
“I’m sorry but you have to get out of there Blossom. Ryder would say the same as well.”
“Why is this happe—” Something solid fell over Blossom’s head, making her fall to the ground roughly.
“Blossom?! What was that?!” SynTanner shouted. Blossom screamed in pain, holding her head. She didn’t see who or what hit her, and while she lay on the sidewalk bathed in pain, she wasn’t looking for her attacker either.
“I’ll take that.” Chance’s voice was stern as if he was scolding his child. He pried Blossom’s cell phone from her hand.
“You better hope I never fucking catch you!” SynTanner threatened. He heard Chance’s voice loud and clear. Instead of answering however, Chance simply ended the phone call.
“That gets rid of him,” Chance sighed. He grabbed Blossom by her ponytail, dragging her to her feet.
“See what you make me do my pretty Blossom? Now, look. You’re going to have a bruise on her face,” he said sadly.
“You’re sick,” Blossom spat, peering at him.
“We’ve got to get you well trained again. Your mouth is very reckless. Come on. Let’s talk.” Chance waved his hand in the air. A black SUV pulled up next to them. Blossom began to fight. Chance immediately put his hand around her neck and squeezed.
“I’ll fucking kill you Blossom,” he gritted darkly. The sheer fear that plunged through her simply from his tone of voice made her body go limp. She knew Chance was deranged, but just how far was he willing to go?
He dragged her towards the SUV and shoved her inside. She hit her heat on the opposite door as he got in and slammed his door shut. He glared at her darkly. Blossom couldn’t do anything but lean against the door, watching him intently. Chance closed his eyes as he adjusted his tie and straightened out his suit. Once he opened his eyes again, that deceptive charm had returned.
“Well now. We’re finally back together,” he smiled.
“I don’t understand why you can’t just leave me alone Chance,” Blossom whispered.
“Because I want you. And Chance Lore always gets what he wants. You know, maybe if you would have just run off and left town, I would have been okay with that. But no. Not only did you run off, but you ran straight into the bed of another man and fucked him. How many days has it been, Blossom? And then to have me waiting for three months? I couldn’t just let that go Blossom. Come on, you know I couldn’t just stand by and let that sort of thing happen.”
“So, because I’m happy with another man, you’ve decided to ruin my life? Wasn’t keeping me chained to your side for three months enough?” she asked.
“Now you know the answer to that one,” he winked. “You and that cop have turned my life upside down. I’ve had to get rid of my security team, my staff, because they all were afraid of getting involved in our love tryst. See, this would all be simple if you hadn’t dragged that cop into the situation. And from the looks of it, seems like he won’t be letting you go either,” Chance sighed.
“And you’re not going to win against him. So, you may as well just let me go!”
“You don’t know me that well Blossom. You only think you do,” Chance shrugged. Blossom sat up completely. She realized that the SUV hadn’t started to move.
“Is there a reason we’re not driving?” she asked.
“What? And have you pull a ‘I kidnapped you’ rant again? I don’t think so. That would be almost too easy for me to get arrested. We’re just having a kind talk. That’s all.”
“And what’s the point of this talk?” Blossom asked shakily.
“I’m inviting you to my mansion. Tonight. 7pm.” Blossom let out a hard laugh.
“You’re even more psycho than I thought you were if you think I’m going to just walk back into your mansion,” she scoffed. Chance smiled eerily at her.
“That would be a shame. I thought you were a good person Blossom. That you would sacrifice yourself to save others.”
“What are you talking about?” Blossom whispered.
“I’ve been lonely without you, Blossom. So, I’ve had to have another woman keep me company. Of course, she doesn’t want to stay any longer but she’s got no choice. Her name is Lisa. I think you know her, right?” When her eyes widened, Chance laughed.
“Sure, you know Lisa. She’s been a frequent event goer of yours. One of your faithful clients. We’ve met plenty of times so when I reached out to her for a date she didn’t refuse. Now, she’s tied to my bed just waiting for me to return.”
“You’re a monster.”
“Oh, come now with the name calling. I just simply have to do what I have to do. But what are you going to do Blossom? I don’t have the slightest interest in Lisa. So, if you fail to show up, I don’t think she’s going to live to see another sunrise.”
