Page 38 of Savage for You
“I’m Montana, but you can call me Monti,” my girl says.
“Beautiful names, for beautiful girls. I’m Dallas Donovan. I play left wing for the hockey team.”
“Oh, hell no.” I hear Talon say from beside me. He looks over and says, “You going to let him talk to them like that?”
I chuckle because I know my girl, I trust her, but I know he’s talking about Autumn.
“Let's see how this plays out?”
We continue to watch from a distance but can hear what they are saying. They don't even see us behind them.
“If you ladies need help with the machines, I can help you. I’ll show you a lot more too.” He winks at them.
Does this fool have something in his eye? Why does he keep winking?
I'm about to walk up to them when Talon moves his arm to stop me. “Let’s see how this plays out,” the fucker says, mocking me.
Monti smiles and says, “Thanks, but we're fine.”
She goes to turn around when he says, “Yes, you ladies are.”
Montana rolls her eyes.
“I promise I’m a nice guy. What do you say? My friend and I would love to go on a double date with you two gorgeous ladies.” The fucker winks at her again, seriously he needs to get his eyes checked. This can't be normal.
“Nah, she's good.” I cross my arms, and they all snap their heads in our direction.
The guys next to me are laughing. Assholes.
“Damn, Rocky, she’s yours?”
I look her straight in her eyes, nod and say, “Yep, she's mine. And Autumn is my little sister.”
Her smile when I claim her was everything. God, this girl is so fucking beautiful.
Her curls are up on top of her head in a messy bun. She's wearing black shorts that make her ass look even more spectacular in them, and a black off the shoulder shirt. She's not wearing much makeup, just some mascara, so her freckles are more prominent today.
“Hey, Killer.” I wink at her.
“Hey, Savage.” She rolls her eyes playfully.
“Okay, boys, show’s over. I need to show Autumn some more shit.” She shoos us away.
“I would love to show Autumn some workouts,” Dallas says, looking at my sister.
“Not if you want to be able to slap the puck this season,” Talon says while glaring at Dallas.
All I hear is Monti giggle while Autumn is crimson red from blushing. She hasn’t ever had this kind of attention on her, and she doesn’t know what to make of it. We walk over to get started on our routine. I always keep my eyes on my girl. I see Talon following Autumn with his eyes.
“You know…I won’t be mad if you’re into my sister. But if you hurt her, just know I'll kill you. She has been through enough.”
“What? She’d never go for me, so you don't need to worry about that.”
“What are you talking about?”
“She said she doesn’t date, I just figured she was letting me off easy,” he says with a shrug.
“Talon, I'm going to tell you this because I think you’re a great guy. My sister has been through a lot. If you want her, you’re going to have to show her. She doesn’t think someone would want her because of the way she looks. I think she is beautiful, but in high school she was made to believe she was ugly. Today when she spoke up, it wasn’t like her. She usually doesn’t stick up for herself. If you want her, show her.”
