Poor Moira. She’d worked so hard to prepare and pitch the importance of her professionalism, and yet he’d been able to dismantle most of her demeanor in the short time she’d been at his place.

“Later then?” He glanced briefly back at the case, reminded that he too, wanted her help with the contractual matter. “You can run me through the key points while I rub soothing balm into your bottom.”

He couldn’t help but grin at her horrified expression.

What the hell does he mean by that?

“Balm?” Her lips parted as though she was struggling to find the words. “Why will I need balm? How hard are you going to spank me?”

“It’s not all about the strength of the spank.” Draco carefully swerved her inquiry. He was having a fabulous time toying with his new, beautiful muse. “It’s also about the placement and the longevity of the spanking.”

“Oh.” Oh my God! Her chest rose and fell rapidly as she searched his face. “Draco, I’m feeling completely out of my depth here.”

Good. He sent the reply to her without words, wondering if his eyes conveyed the unspoken message. “Isn’t that the point, little girl?” He cocked a brow at her. “Feeling out of your depth gets you as hot as you were when you were here on Friday, doesn’t it?”

Her gaze widened and imperceptibly he noticed the rhythm of her heart accelerate. He can’t possibly know that! I didn’t even realize that until we met. “I know I have to trust you, sir, but it’s harder than I thought.”

Draco couldn’t counter how hard it was—few people had ever made him harder. All those hot women of his past were short-term solutions to an indecipherable problem he could never put his finger on. Being around Moira though, had revealed an answer he hadn’t even known he was looking for—a woman who stimulated his mind, his instinctive desire to protect, and his cock. She was close to perfection.

“Are you worried that I’ll take things too far?” His concern was only another symptom of the difference between Moira and the other women he’d bedded. He might have cared for the unnamed women’s superficial welfare, but there was never anything more. He was happy for the sexual connection, but then wanted to see the back of them. “Is this about anal sex?”

“No.” The way she looked away though suggested otherwise, as did her escalating thoughts which suggested silent panic. Oh God, what does he mean by that?

“Moira...” He sang her name like a child’s lullaby. “What did I tell you earlier?”

“To call you, sir?”

“What else?” He had to work hard not to smile at her escalating dismay.

Eyes fluttering closed, she concentrated on the answer. “To tell you the truth?” Blowing out a breath, she leaned back against the wall.

“That’s right.” A peculiar sense of pride swelled in his chest. She had been listening to him. “That’s all you have to do.”

“It’s not about anal sex.” Her answer was a sigh. “But it’s about how I felt when I thought you were going to fuck me there.” Her gaze lowered to his chest. “I didn’t know how to make you stop, but I knew I had to.”

“That’s where trust comes in...” Draco didn’t know if she was trying to be alluring, but gods help him, had there ever been a more enticing woman in her situation? He hadn’t offered her the chance for a safe word the last time they’d met, but perhaps this was the time to consider one. It would offer her the reassurance she required to relax. “Have you ever heard of a safe word?”

“Only in fiction.” Her smile suggested she thought something was amusing.

“You read those trashy romance novels?” He wanted to snigger at her poor choice, but resisted the urge in case he offended her.

“I have done.” Her chin rose. “And don’t call them trash, please. There’s nothing wrong with women expressing and enjoying their sexuality, sir. Romance books help with that.”

The edge to her voice begged for punishment, but he chose to overlook it. This time. Her sudden passion was intriguing to him. It appeared that he’d hit a nerve.

“Okay.” Lifting her chin with his fingertip, he forced her to meet his eyes. “I apologize for my tone. I admit I haven’t read any romance books.” The truth was he hadn’t read any books since he’d been told to at school. “I agree there’s nothing wrong with women reveling in their sexuality.” His lips curled into a salacious smile. “That’s something I wholeheartedly endorse.”

“Okay.” Tension seemed to fall from her shoulders. “Thank you.”

“So, to your safe word...” His thumb slid along her chin and back to her neck. The woman had the most divine neckline. “Any thoughts?”

“I can choose anything?”

“Anything at all.” The pad of his thumb brushed over the sparkling stud of her earring. “So long as you remember it and use it if I go too far.”

“And you’ll stop?” Her lips parted to release a tiny gasp.

“I’ll stop.” His thumb stopped moving as he lowered closer to her face. “I promise.”
