“Where?” I asked.

“Stone House.”

“Are you sure about this?” Delany asked, standing close to me as I held Harlow in my arms. Wrapping my free arm around her, I tucked her close, kissing the side of her head. “You won’t go to the clubhouse, so this is the only place left. No one will ever think to look for you here.”

“But what if I’m putting everyone else in danger?”

“Delany, this house is a fortress. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is getting into this house without alerting me, the clubhouse, the NYPD, and the local Fire Department. Besides, if that isn’t enough, I also have Harbor Security personally monitoring this house twenty-four seven. Trust me. You and Harlow are safe,” Montana stated, opening the fridge just as Dr. Tessa Jackson walked into the kitchen along with an older woman.

“And who do we have here?” the older woman smiled warmly and walked right over to us, looking down at Harlow who snuggled close when the woman approached.

“Delany, meet Mrs. Alice. The woman is an institution here at Stone House. Generations of Alice’s ancestors have worked for the Stone family. There is no Stone House without Alice.”

“Flatterer,” Mrs. Alice scoffed.

“It’s very nice to meet you.”

“Delany, why don’t you come with me, and I will show you around?” Tessa offered, walking over to my woman.

“Are you sure I’m not intruding?”

“Please.” Tess huffed as she glared at the man looming by the fridge. “I would enjoy the company. God knows I’m not getting anything from anyone around here.”

“Woman, keep it up and I’ll show you some attention tonight.”

“I haven’t forgiven you yet,” Tessa snipped before escorting Delany out of the room. Montana rolled his eyes, watching his woman leave.

“Let me take little miss Harlow to the nursery. York is still awake and would love the company.”

Handing my daughter over to Mrs. Alice, I waited until the woman was out of earshot before asking, “What’s up with Tess?”

“Woman is pissed at me. Illyria called her and told her what I said to your woman at the clubhouse. Been sleeping on the couch ever since,” Montana muttered; I couldn’t help but grin as I pulled my vibrating phone from my pocket.

Looking at it, I said, “Mercy and the others are at the clubhouse. Bane is pissed, but he’s there, too.”

“Good.” Montana sighed, pushing off the counter. “I want to know what that fucker is hiding.”

Chapter Thirty-Two

Storm

I had just walked into the clubhouse when Pippen frantically jumped up from the seat he was sitting in, causing the chair to crash to the floor.

“About damn time you two showed up!” the young intern shouted anxiously. I got he was under a lot of stress taking over Shame’s duties, but if he was going to break at the first sign of trouble, he would never make brother status.

Kid seriously needed to chill the fuck out.

“Boy, I am not in the mood for your shit,” Montana grumbled, walking past the kid, only for Pippen to jump in front of him, stopping him dead in his tracks. I wasn’t sure what the hell was going on, but I was pretty sure the kid was about to get his ass beat.

“You need to make time!”

“What is his problem?” Montana asked, looking around the clubhouse.

“Don’t know. Kid has been like this ever since we got here. Fucker won’t say shit. Only that it’s bigger than we all thought,” Payne sneered, as he glared at the young man.

“Because it is!” Pippen shouted at no one in particular. “Holy shit! It’s like momentous!”

“Is that even a word?” Payne leaned over, whispering to Fury, who shrugged, as he too looked annoyed with the newest intern.
