“Hayden,” I whisper as he walks in and closes the door. He leans against the wall near the door and closes his eyes. He’s only wearing a black jacket where the zipper is open and black shorts. I walk closer to him and grab his hands. His knuckles have deep cuts on them and they already look like they are forming a bruise. “What did you do?” I look up at him, worry filling my eyes.

Hayden and I haven’t talked in a while because we got in a fight. I know he’s been hiding things from me and I know it has to do with Marco but every time I would ask, he would brush me off.

One day, after work, Eric came and threatened me. Hayden beat the crap out of him and then he and I got into a fight.

I asked him what’s going on with him and why we barely hang out. He made some stupid excuse and I told him if he couldn’t tell me the truth then we should take a small break until he figures his shit out.

He got pissed and I left him alone in the parking lot.

It’s been a week since then.

“I’m sorry.” He looks up at me, hurt flashing in his eyes. I know Hayden has demons and I know that fighting gives him a way to release those demons. I just hate all the problems that come with the fighting. I don’t have peace anymore but at least I have Hayden. “I’m fucking sorry. I wish I told you.”

I grab his hand and swing his arm around my shoulder. “Let’s go to my room.”

Hayden and I go to my room. Calvin is upstairs sleeping so I don’t want to wake him up.

I bring Hayden to my bathroom and make him sit on the toilet. I grab the first aid kit underneath the cabinet. I take out the alcohol pads and small band aids before standing between Hayden’s legs. He immediately rests his hands on my hips and I let him as I work on the wounds on his face.

“After that date we had that one night. I got a message from Marco saying he needed me to start fighting again,” Hayden starts saying as I clean his cuts. “Since then I’ve been fighting at the club again. Marco’s just been making me come in and out of fights, not giving me a break.”

I remember the date. He was being weird during dinner, looking at his phone. Because of that I just told him to drop me off at home and he did. Since that date, things have been different. I hate how far Marco and Eric have been pushing us.

“Why couldn’t you just say no?”

“Because they threatened you again. I’ll go through fucking hell before I let them have you.”

It’s been a few months since Hayden’s fight with Eric and since then, things are just tense. Marco said he wouldn’t come after me but it seems like he changed his mind. Hayden told me once that Marco is never a man of his word.

He is a bad man with fucked up morals.

Hayden thinks he is a psychopath and I wouldn’t be surprised with the kind of tendencies he has.

“I thought we were done with this? I thought Marco was over this fixation.”

“I don’t know what it is about him wanting you. He’s never wanted someone this much and I know it’s not for him to fucking have sex with you. It’s something else, something more,” Hayden says, looking like he is in deep thought.

“Then we need to do something.” I throw the alcohol pads in the trash.

“You aren’t doing shit,” Hayden demands, roughly might I add.

I turn my head to look at him as he stands up and walks towards me next to the sink. “Yes I am. This isn’t just about you.”

“It’s fucking dangerous. Marco is a damn psycho. I don’t want you in his vicinity,” Hayden says, leaning down close to me.

I put my hands on my hips and stare up at him. “Don’t care. We need to figure out a way to get him off your back and mine. We need to figure out what his goal is.”

Hayden shakes his head lightly and a smile threatens to spill on his lips. “You’re fucking crazy.”

“Maybe I am.” Next thing I know I feel Hayden’s lips on mine. A full body tremor goes through me as he caresses my lips with his and thrusts his tongue inside my mouth. Hayden devours my lips as if he is obsessed. He pushes me against the wall and one of his hands goes to my jaw and the other goes to my thigh, resting his hand on the side. “Hayden,” I moan against his mouth as he grunts and pushes against me.

I feel his hardness against my core making me squirm against him.

Fuck I haven’t kissed him in so long.

I missed him and his touch.

His pretty words that make me melt against his body.
