“I hope you aren’t paying for that drink yourself,” the bartender flirts with a charming smile on his face. “No beautiful girl should be paying for her own drink.”
I laugh lightly and before I can reply a deep voice cuts in and I see a familiar arm reach around me.
“Actually she isn’t buying her own drink. I am.” I turn my head, get a whiff of his cologne from his shirt, and meet those beautiful gray eyes.

Jaclyn
Present
I glare at Hayden as he hands his card to the bartender.
“Sorry bro, I didn’t know she was with you,” the cute bartender says while taking Hayden’s card.
“I’m not his girlfriend. We aren’t together,” I say with a small smile as I try to block Hayden.
“Well in that case, I’m Jamie,” Jamie says before giving me his hand.
I shake it. “Jaclyn.” But then my hand gets ripped from his.
I glare at Hayden but he ignores it and he lowers his head to be at level with mine. “What the hell are you doing?”
“Having a conversation with someone?” I take my wrist out of his hold.
Hayden is about to say something but a voice cuts him off from behind. “Hubs!” I look behind him and see Nicole walking towards us with her group of friends behind her. Nicole walks up to us and she slides her arm onto Hayden’s bicep. I try to ignore her hand on him and instead focus my attention on something else, anything else to distract me from her. “You look great,” she says, smiling up at Hayden. He doesn’t pay attention to her, instead his focus is on me. God’s he’s an asshole for doing that in front of his future wife. “Jaclyn, you look amazing too. Definitely will get a few guys up your dress tonight, right?” Nicole says before winking.
I put on a fake smile. “Yea, the bartender is so cute.”
I notice Hayden’s hands clench by his side and his jaw tightens.
Nicole smiles at me before looking at Hayden and next thing I know her lips are attached to Hayden’s and I feel like throwing up.
My stomach churns and I look away from the moment between them.
“What the hell are you doing?” I hear Hayden say in a rough tone.
“Nothing, you just look so good. I had to have a taste,” Nicole giggles while I just down my drink that Jamie made for me. “Enjoy your night, husband. I’ll see you later.”
Nicole leaves and I still have my lips on the glass, trying to erase the image from my brain and burn it.
God.
I turn my head to look at Hayden and he doesn’t look too happy. He has a furious expression on his face and I have a feeling it’s not from me.
“Why are you still here? Don’t you have other people to talk to?”
Hayden leans closer to me until his lips touch my ear. “Princess, the only person I want to talk to is sitting right in front of me.”
I shrug my shoulders. “Well I don’t want to talk to you, so.”
I don’t even want to look at him.
He’s not yours.
I know I have no right to say he can’t kiss the girl he’s marrying.
He’s not yours.
