Page 70 of Blinded By Hate
The one time I actually kissed a girl after Jaclyn happened to be right in front of her.
The last person I kissed was Jaclyn. I did have sex with a girl once to see if I could forget about Jaclyn and it didn’t work. She tried kissing me but having sex with her felt all wrong and I knew if she tried to kiss me it just made me feel worse than actually having sex with her.
I fucking hated that night.
I remember being high out of my mind and Rowan carrying me out of the club because I was doing stupid shit.
He’s a lifesaver, my angel of a brother.
“Because I wanted to prove a theory and I was right.” Nicole smirks. “You care for that girl. A lot more than you should, husband.” She laughs and shakes her head lightly. “I can feel the trouble coming.”
“Don’t kiss me again,” I demand.
“Why? Don’t want to risk Jaclyn seeing? Does she even know?” Nicole leans off the wall and raises an eyebrow at me. “Does she know the kind of person you are now? What you do?”
“It’s none of your business,” I say, leaning close to her face. “If you do stupid shit like that again or even think about starting trouble with her, I swear to God-”
“What?” Nicole smirks again. “You’ll break off the wedding? Break off my dear old daddy’s deal?” Nicole laughs, throwing her head back as if this is all some fucked up planned she made. “Remember, Hayden. If you don’t go through with this deal then Killian won’t get that alliance he wanted and then he’s gonna be pissed at you because you work for him. You have to do whatever he says, last time I checked.” Nicole’s eyebrow raises and she walks closer to me until her chest is almost pressed against mine. “We don’t want the truth to slip, do we? I mean that is what it’s called right? Codice di verità?”
I push Nicole off me and she just laughs it off like the fucking bitch she is. “Stay out of it.”
Nicole’s eyes move away from mine and her smile slips. “Well you should go. Looks like Jaclyn will be going home with the cute bartender. He’s kind of cute, isn’t he?” Nicole says, mischief written all over her face.
I turn around and look at what she’s talking about. I see Jaclyn talking and laughing with the bartender from earlier.
The one who was fucking hitting on her.
My jaw clenches and rage rushes through my body. My hands form a fist and all I want to do is grab that motherfucker by the collar and bang his head against the wall.
I ignore Nicole’s light chuckles and go straight for Jaclyn.
“You know, bartenders usually aren’t the ones I go for but you aren’t bad, mister,” Jaclyn says, giggling while touching his arm.
His fucking arm that I’m going to break off in two seconds.
Next thing I know I’m in front of Jaclyn, blocking her from the bartender. “Don’t you know that taking advantage of drunk girls will cost you your life?” I say, making the bartender clear his throat as his face turns red. I wrap my arm around Jaclyn’s waist. “Next time I see you around her or even breathe in the same air as her, you will first lose your eyes and then I’ll cut you open and take out your lungs for breathing near her. Go back to your fucking job.”
The bartender practically runs away as Jaclyn pushes herself off of me.
“You’re such a dick, Hayden.”
I turn to look at her.
Since she walked inside the bar, I haven’t taken my eyes off her. She is actually stunning, so stunning I feel speechless and don’t even know what to say.
She makes me lose my train of thought and I forget what to say or do around her.
The dress she’s wearing tonight is a black dress that rides up her thighs. It makes her legs look long and beautiful.
I want those legs wrapped around my waist as I make her scream my name until she passes out.
God, she’s drunk.
I can’t.
Not yet at least.
“And the bartender guy wasn’t?” I raise an eyebrow at her. “He was undressing you with his eyes, Jaclyn.”
