Krys saw them and then jumped up and ran to Raine saying, “Sissy, come look what I got.”

Raine smiled down at Krys and then allowed her to pull her to the floor.

Hours later we found ourselves at the clubhouse, and thankfully, my man had the wherewithal to find a place that rented tents.

Because even if we had packed everyone into the clubhouse there still wasn’t enough.

Thankfully we had fire pits going every fifty feet or so and with the sides lowered, it kept the area pretty warm and toasty.

Chapter 18

Lena

Apparently, you should trust a man that can find you in a crowd without knowing you were even supposed to be there – life lesson.

I was still trying to recover from everything that had taken place during Christmas.

I was still worn out and New Year’s had made it even worse.

Thankfully, next year we were traveling to Maple Cove and letting them host Christmas.

“He’s going to kill me,” I said as I took in one of the vendors at the Street Fair we had during the new year.

“My dad loves you; he isn’t going to kill you.” She told me as she took in the various outfits for women. And then my eyes landed on a set of pink fluffy handcuffs.

When some woman behind us sneered. Sneered.

Umm didn’t she realize where she was also standing?

Hypocrite much?

We both turned our heads and lifted our brows, I asked, “You got a problem?”

“You're sick.” She said while jerking up her chin, her hair not moving an inch.

Raine snapped, “I think all that aqua net you got in your hair has traveled to your brain cells. Because it’s obvious you don’t have any left.”

“It’s sickening, is what it is.”

“What’s sickening?”

The woman threw her hands up, “Her father. Seriously? Y’all are what? The same age?”

Just then I caught sight of my man with our daughter in his arms, followed by Tank, Cason, my dad, Gravel, Porter, Hippie, Wes, and Philip.

I smiled wide, “He's my daddy. I love it when he puts my hair in pigtails and lays out a white button-up shirt and a red plaid mini skirt. Oh, and those black Mary Janes.”

Of course, we haven’t done that, but my man never let me down.

Which he proved in the next instance, “Precious, seriously? Thought we were keeping the role-playing to ourselves?”

“Hi, Daddy. I missed you.” I winked up at him.

Krys pulled away from his arms and raised her arms for me to take her.

I smiled, and took my baby girl, wrapping her up tightly.

Then I looked up at Storm, “How mad at me are you?”
