He lifted a brow, and looked at the vendor, then looked back at me, “What scale do I have?”

I shrugged, then said, “A one to a fifty.”

He grunted, “About a fifty-seven.”

Smiling, I stood up on my tiptoes and pressed my lips to his.

He winked down at me, “Okay, down to a thirty-seven.”

Then I lowered my tone, “Will a blow job in the haunted house bring it down to a seventeen?”

He grinned, then nodded, “Yeah, Precious. I think it will.”

“That’s sick.” The woman snapped.

I honestly forgot about the woman standing there.

But my man being my man, looked at Krys and said, “Close your eyes for me, sweetness.”

Krys complied immediately, then Storm pulled his gun out and pointed it at the woman, “No, what’s sick is that when I put a bullet in you, your brain matter is going to cover those I cherish. And that’s not something I care to do at the moment. So do us all a favor and go away.”

Her eyes went wide as her face paled.

I snickered.

Which caused Raine to giggle, and then snorted.

We all watched the woman run away, and I shit you not, three cops found us about twenty minutes later.

One of them knelt beside Krys who was now walking but with help, and asked, “Hey there. Can you tell me what happened?”

Krys nodded, “Yeah, woman mean to momma. Daddy told go away.” Krys said with a giggle.

After ten minutes of questioning, the cops walked away, as did the woman.

And after I handed Krys over to my dad, I took my man’s hand and led him to the haunted house.

He was smiling wide with his arm thrown over my shoulders as we exited.

Catcalls and wolf whistles serenaded us.

Chapter 19

Storm

I sat back in my chair; at the same time, a phone rang.

Ripper leaned back, checked the caller, then hit a button and answered the call, “Okay?”

We all watched as Ripper listened to the caller, and then he said one word, “Stay.”

And with that, he hung up the phone, stood up, and without another word, he prowled to the door, opened it, and headed into the main room of the clubhouse.

I stood up and followed him, “Ripper.”

He didn’t stop.

He was almost to the front door.
