his, he groaned. He slid his hand toward her hip, but another hand grabbed his. He pulled away and
saw Theo holding his wrist.
“Do not ruin it, Chase. You survived last night.”
Chase blew out a breath. “Thanks.” He gave Sabrina an apologetic look. “Soon, my love,” he
whispered and kissed her gently on the lips.
Next week this time, they would be engaged.

EARLY THE NEXT MORNING , DAMIAN SETTLED INTO HIS FIRST - CLASS LEATHER SEAT ON THE TRAIN BACK
to Washington, DC. He would normally use the time to size up his fellow travelers and see who could
be useful to him, but right now his mind circled around a new problem—Sabrina was in love with
Chase and short of kidnapping her again, there was little he could do.
Unfortunately, kidnapping wasn’t an option this time, even if he could find an opportunity when
she was alone. She had to come to him willingly for the bond to reforge properly.
How the hell had Sabrina and Chase’s relationship accelerated so quickly? They’d only known
each other a few months. Demi-Immortals rarely fell in love at all, and never this fast. But she was
clearly in love with him.
Wait.
He thought back to when he’d first recovered Sabrina. Her heart had already been awakened. Was
it possible she’d somehow met Chase before she ran away from the compound? And what had made
her choose Boston in the first place?
Damian tented his fingers in front of his lips, tapping the forefingers together slowly. She had gone
to Boston as a teenager, dancing in the ballet company’s summer program. They must have somehow
met then.
Dammit! Chase had been in his way the entire time.
He slammed his fist on the arm of his chair. The train shook and the lights flickered. A woman
nearby let out a cry.
Calm yourself. It will do no good to kill this mortal body.
He needed a new plan. He wouldn’t be able to woo Sabrina away from Chase as easily as he’d
first thought.
They weren’t married yet. He needed to rethink his approach.
