His eyes traveled to her bump. “Still nothing but fatigue?”

“Not yet so far. I’m still waiting for the bomb to drop.”

“Let’s hope it never even comes close.”

And with those words, he descended his head toward her core. Laying down, he pushed his large, rough hands beneath her ass. His tongue parted her folds and licked its way from her entrance up to her clit, gently applying sweet pressure. Her head rolled back as tingling waves of heat washed over her body, radiating from her clit, through her entire body and lighting up her muscles.

She reached down and combed her fingers through his hair. He knew exactly what she needed. He felt her needs through the bond, letting that be his guide. His tongue flattened and rubbed against her clit before he released it and sucked it until her thighs quivered on either side of his head.

Her moans filled the room as she pushed her hips against him, her legs locking him in place. His chest rumbled in a pleased growl, letting his lips vibrate against her. He made this about her, soaking in her pleasure, taking pride in his ability to please her.

His tongue moved faster, his hands grabbing a tight hold of her hips to pull her closer to his mouth. Flicking against her clit, he pushed her over her edge, a high-pitched cry escaping her lungs. He gently kissed and sucked as her body tensed and eased with the waves of pleasure running though her nerves.

Though he hadn’t come himself, he was content. Scooting back, he sat by her feet and laid them in his lap. He took one foot in his hands, studying her carefully, his mind curious.

“Have you given any more thought to visiting your parents?”

She took a deep breath and laid her head back, giving herself a moment to think. “Part of me wants to see them. But another part is afraid of rejection.”

“I don’t want to pressure you, but I’ve been thinking about it quite a bit. I’d been estranged from my family for a long time and now that we’re reconnecting, it feels good. I just want you to know that the option is still there. Even if you don’t want them to meet me, I’m more than willing to support you from afar.”

His words spread so much more than just love through her veins. “Thank you, but I think if I go back, I would want them to meet you. I’m just not sure about the girls.”

“Why not?”

“The whole wolf secret might spill because of them.”

“That might get tricky when they get older.” He picked up her other foot and kneaded his palms into her sole. “But if you want them to be part of your life in any way, we’ll figure it out.”

She nodded and swallowed a yawn. Blake took that as a sign to grab her pajamas and tuck her under the blanket. Snuggled in close to his side, she easily fell asleep.

They spent the next morning with Ann, taking a laid-back approach to the day. Niev really liked her, and they got along just as well as she did with Lyliann and Layla. Blake was out front, his wolf sprawled out in the sun. He enjoyed his wolf’s calmness, soaking in each minute of it. That afternoon, Kareem took Blake on a run while Niev and Ann stayed behind.

They took a long walk around the lake, dipping their feet in the water with the sun shining down on them. Blake and Kareem returned just before dinner, giving Niev and Blake a few minutes to freshen up before they met up with Alpha Raymond and Luna Charlotte.

“Has Carissa indicated why they wanted to have a second dinner?” Blake asked as they walked to Alpha Raymond’s house.

“She just said that she believes Luna Charlotte wants to be sure I’m okay after our hike.”

“She did seem very worried about you when we told her about it.”

Blake knocked on the door and it swung open right away. Alpha Raymond’s face was warm and welcoming as he waved them inside.

“Come in.”

“I hope we aren’t too early.” Blake stepped back to let Niev in first, his hand resting on her lower back.

“Not at all, we just finished setting the table. Unfortunately, Beta Fallon might not be able to join us today.”

“Is he alright?” Niev asked, concerned as she stepped into the dining room.

“Your worries are very kind but there is no need. He is well, just out on patrol. We’ve been having issues with hikers coming closer to our village, so we’ve been trying to keep a closer eye on them.”

“We talked with Kareem about this. He said most people stay away.”

“They do because we have signs up, but hikers are searching for newer and more dangerous routes and climbing up hills that are off limits seems to be tempting.”

Luna Charlotte came in with a dish in her hands and sat down next to Alpha Raymond. “It never used to be like this. Locals always knew not to come on our private land, but it’s become more difficult to stay hidden without losing the freedom our wolves enjoy so much.”
