Olivia quickly got two waters before sitting down next to Niev and explainingthe details she wanted in the ceremony. It would be a short one, with vows that had been part of her pack’s tradition for generations. Niev suggested they have a small gathering afterwards with just their friends. Though Olivia seemed hesitant, she agreed to it. Niev had a feeling it was more for Tristan’s sake than her own.

Just as they started preparing dinner, Blake called and Niev excitedly picked up the phone.

“Hi.”

“Hello, beautiful.”

“How are you? Did you get some rest?”

“I did. We’re just getting ready to leave again. We’ll move slowly and carefully but thought it was better to get a little further now than to wait until sundown. Were you able to get some rest?”

“Yes. I fell asleep and only woke up when Olivia knocked on the door asking if we wanted to have lunch.”

“Good. I’ll call you again tomorrow morning, okay?”

“Be safe. I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Though Niev enjoyed dinner with Olivia, she was glad when she was able to go home. She needed some alone time. Walking into the bedroom, she decided to wear one of Blake’s shirts in the hopes his scent would soothe her to sleep. She cuddled with a few pillows and fell into an unrestful sleep.

The next few days weren’t much different from the first. She spent her time with either Olivia, Layla, Lyliann, or Mayra. Blake had arrived on the second morning and had been busy, but never too busy to speak to her.

She was playing with Darron on the fourth day in the afternoon sun when Blake called to check on her. Watching as Darron ran around the grass, she picked up the phone.

“Hi.”

“You sound cheerful.”

“I’m with Darron.”

“I’m sure he’s keeping you on your toes. I’m at our new house right now.”

“Do you like it?”

“I do. It’s slightly bigger than ours now.”

“Raymond is really trying to make us love it there, huh?” she giggled.

Since they would be family very soon, Raymond had offered that they drop his title.

“They all have been very sweet. He announced our arrival yesterday–officially–and since then the response has been overwhelmingly welcome.”

“Have you talked to a lot of the pack?”

“Yes. I wanted to make sure everyone knew that I was always available to talk. He had the whole pack gathered for the announcement, giving me some time to talk and introduce us. He’d wanted to wait for you to arrive too but the pack was getting curious.”

“I think it’s better that way. I would’ve been too nervous and made a bad first impression.”

“I was hoping you wouldn’t be upset but please know we didn’t do it with the intention of leaving you out.”

“I know.”

“Ann was very excited. She is over the moon to have us so close to her. Natalie came to talk to me too. She wanted us to know that she’ll start planning and preparing for Aruna and Emlyn’s birth right away.”

“Christa said she would talk to her too.”

“You’ll be in good hands.”
