Page 29 of Claiming Her Alpha
He slid a hand over his chest, down his stomach and wrapped his fist around his cock, stroking his thumb over the tip. Though it was hard, he tried to imagine Kendra’s dainty fingers around him instead of his own. Working himself, he leaned his head back and let the water fall on his face. He immersed himself in the single memory he’d been able to make with her.
He tried to reshape the thought into a new image: one of her kneeling in front of him, those pretty pink lips sealing around his shaft. He ran his fist up and down his cock, pretending it was her mouth, her tongue licking a teasing path over his length. At first, she was slow and gentle but then her wild side took over. She took him faster and harder, lips vibrating against him as her moans grew louder. Her head bobbed faster, fiery curls swinging back and forth as she took his entire length to the back of her throat.
He had to suppress a deep groan as he moved his hips in time to the imaginary thrusts of her head. He recalled how he ran his fingers through her hair, now doing the same in his mind. Her swollen lips moved faster, his cock twitching as his orgasm took over his body.
He opened his eyes, wanting to look down and see her blue orbs beaming up at him, like they had after he’d made her orgasm. But all he could see was his spent cock in his hand and his cum washing down the drain. The relief from his climax was gone in an instant, frustration and anger quickly replacing it.
He washed off the day’s hard work and wrapped a towel around his waist. Walking over to his room, he saw his door stand wide open. Gabriel stood by his desk, fingers running over Kendra’s note. Ryker couldn’t help the threatening growl escape his chest.
Gabriel only leisurely crooked a brow. “Adrianna and I are expecting you for dinner tonight.”
“I’m busy.”
Gabriel’s eyes moved back down to Ryker’s overflowing desk. “It looks like you’ve already planned the next few weeks so you should be good.”
“I’m on patrol.”
“Well lucky for you, I’m your beta and I have arranged for you to have the night off.” Gabriel walked past him. “See you in thirty minutes.”
As soon as Gabriel was out of earshot, Ryker let out a frustrated grunt. He’d buried himself in work the past few weeks and had tried to avoid everyone and everything. He hated the petty stares and the passive-aggressive remarks.
Thirty minutes later, he reluctantly knocked on Gabriel’s door and stepped into the house. The smell of garlic and his favourite lasagna wrapped around him right away.
“Oh wonderful! You’re just in time to help me set the table,” Adrianna chirped with a smile.
Ryker couldn’t help but instantly feel better. This was his second home. Adrianna had always been sweet to him and treated him like family. She’d often been there to give him advice or just listen when he’d had a bad day.
“Gabe said he would be back, but it seems that Alpha Vallerian needs him a little longer.”
“I don’t mind waiting.”
“If you’re hungry, grab a piece of bread.”
He did, unable to resist her baking. “Where is Adam?”
“He’s at a pyjama party with some friends. It’s just us adults today.”
Ryker nodded and began to set the table.
“I thought you would come by sooner. I was getting worried.”
“Sorry.”
He turned and saw her sad eyes on him. “Gabe said you would come when you’re ready to talk but….”
Ryker’s throat suddenly felt tight. He didn’t know what to say or do, but her concern made him feel bad for not showing up sooner. He just looked at her, his body suddenly feeling as if he’d hit a wall. His façade crumbled, and he could no longer hide his pain.
“Oh, Ryker!”
She ran across the room and threw her arms around him in an embrace, so sweet and loving that he couldn’t stop the tears. He hadn’t allowed himself to cry, not wanting to feel so vulnerable.
“It’s okay…” she hushed, tightening her squeeze.
“It hurts,” he whispered.
“I can’t imagine the pain you’re going through right now. Just know we’re here for you. It’s okay to be sad, even angry. I’ll listen, no matter what.”
“I miss her and I don’t even know her.”
