She shook her head and waited to see his reaction to the taste. His eyes widened and he quickly took another bite. “Good, huh?” she giggled.

“The combination of salted caramel and chocolate sounded revolting, but this isn’t half bad.”

With her eyes closed, Asher shuffled closer, then let out a satisfied hum as he tried it himself.

“Who do I have to talk to about planning the luna ceremony? I mean other than Silvia.”

“How about Carrie?” Isaiah suggested, taking the hint to change the subject. “She’s new here so there’s no history to worry about.”

“Is she here right now? I thought you said she and Luka spend a lot of time in Lenkesther during the summers?”

“They do, but with the rogues nearby they decided to stay this year.”

Velora sighed. Though she didn’t want to, it was time to start thinking like a true luna.

“You still have time,” Asher tried to appease.

“I know—I’m mentally preparing myself.”

“Vel?”

“Ice?” she quipped, with a raise of her brow.

Isaiah chuckled. “I’m hoping Mia forgets about that soon.”

“Don’t keep your hopes up.”

Isaiah sobered, then informed her, “We will mark you at your ceremony.”

“Lunas get marked at their ceremony?” she retorted sarcastically. “I had no idea!”

“I just… Well, I’m not sure how you feel about that. We can talk about it first, if you like.”

“What is there to talk about? There’s no way around it. Besides, the bond is strengthening every day. If you’re lucky, I’ll be begging for your marks by then.”

“You’ll never need to beg us for anything,” Asher garbled through a mouthful of ice cream.

Isaiah steered the conversation back to the topic at hand. “Will you want to mark us as well?”

“I hadn’t thought about that,” she admitted.

“Does your wolf feel like she wants to?”

“She doesn’t get near the bond—she can’t comprehend how much I don’t like the two of you. Would you even want me to mark you?”

Asher let out an excited noise around his spoon, then pointed the piece of silverware at her. “Now that I’d beg for.”

Isaiah rolled his eyes. “What my lovely brother is trying to say is that we would be honoured to wear your mark.”

“I don’t know yet. Maybe at some point.”

“We are more than happy to wait.”

Asher scoffed. “Speak for yourself. I’ll be begging on my knees.”

“I’m pretty sure you would enjoy that,” Isaiah laughed.

Suddenly, something struck Velora.
