Isaiah was the true alpha. No one ever talked about which of them was technically the first born, but it was clear to her now.

“We would prefer if it stayed a secret.” Isaiah said, seemingly reading the emotions she wore on her face.

She stared at Isaiah, who’d suddenly become even more serious—if that were possible. “I’d never say anything. It just surprised me.”

Then her stomach twisted as her mind came to another crushing realisation: a luna’s main responsibility was to provide an heir. With her eyes fixed on Isaiah, she felt sick.

She’d never wanted children. Not that she’d ever thought about anyway. But now it was expected of her—a requirement. It was on her to ensure the pack could survive.

“It’s okay,” Isaiah soothed, reading her far too well for her liking. “We don’t have to think about that.”

“How?”

“We’ve decided that we don’t want to know whose child it is—biologically.”

“I offered to use protection but…” Asher trailed off.

“I don’t care,” Isaiah said to his brother, “Five minutes doesn’t change anything—you’re just as much alpha as I am.”

“But what if my genes aren’t as strong as yours?”

“We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. Maybe Isis will bless us with just one child. But we don’t need to overthink that right now.”

Asher sighed, but when he didn’t continue to argue Isaiah turned his attention back to Velora.

“Yes, at some point you will have to provide an heir, but one step at a time. Right now, you adjusting to being luna is our main priority.”

She didn’t even want to do that much, but there was no fighting it. She nodded and closed her eyes again.

“Would you like us to leave so you can get some sleep?”

Velora wasn’t sure how to answer. If she stayed up, her mind would only spin with the realisations she’d just made in regards to her future. Though if she slept, that opened her mind up to dreams of Ely. If she were still with the Howlers, she’d have gone to Heath—he always knew what to do.

“Vel?” Asher softly asked.

“Hm?”

“We want to help you, but we don’t know how.”

“What would you have done back home?” Isaiah asked.

She shrugged, though she already knew. A picture of Heath flashed across her mind. His bright eyes sparkling the way they did when he’d look up from work to see her standing there. He would ask what she needed, if she wanted to be herself or just separate from reality. Either way, he always made sure she would sleep. Even when she pretended to be Laureen, he always made sure to please her after.

“I think I regret asking,” Isaiah chuckled, and she opened her eyes, seeing his amused grin flash at her.

Asher, however, was surprisingly serious. Though he tended to get that way when his ego got bruised. “I’m pretty sure we can do it a thousand times better,” he mumbled with a salacious grin.

At the memory of exactly how good it was, Velora flushed. The way Isaiah had held her as Asher devoured her to orgasm had been the best she’d ever experienced. Heath hadn’t been bad, but the bond between her and the twins intensified everything.

“Maybe,” she admitted, though she knew her thoughts gave her away.

Isaiah’s brows rose in surprise, but Asher’s eyes darkened with lust in a way that said, ‘Challenge accepted.’

“Let us prove it—right here, right now.”

“And how would you do that, Asher?” Velora drew out his name, letting it roll off her tongue in a way that she knew hit just the right spot.

It only satisfied her when he squirmed on the spot. “I could fuck you with my tongue again.”
