“I don’t like this,” Ash shouted. “What keeps him from saying his special farewell while he’s balls deep inside of her?”

“I have to agree with Ash here,” Ely chimed in.

“I don’t,” Isaiah countered.

“He’s probably screwing her right now! She’s ours, Isaiah, and he already touched her when he knew that.”

“She won’t let him do that.”

Ash barked out a sarcastic laugh. “Yeah, that’s what happened last time.”

“Because he betrayed her trust. He promised this would be her safe place and now he’s sending her away. The second she called him alpha, she was done with him.”

“Then where is she?”

“As far away from us as she can get.” Isaiah took a deep breath and watched his brother’s face turn from anger to horror.

“What’s keeping her from running away then?”

“Alpha Heath would know and tell us.”

“Why would he?”

“Because he knows what it feels like to be without his luna. He wouldn’t do that to anyone.”

The silence in the room was deafening as Ash collapsed into his chair, burying his face in his hands.

“Ely?”

“Yes, Alpha?”

“Ash and I don’t want any incidents when we travel through Swiftport. How much time do you need to discreetly get a few warriors out there?”

“I’ll talk to Axel. I might be able to get some out today.”

“We don’t want to alert any rogues,” Ash chimed in.

“We’ll send them one by one, and make them take different routes,” Ely suggested. “It’s time to stock up on supplies anyway. If they’re watching, we’ll make sure that’s all they see.”

“Good,” Isaiah agreed.

“I want Ax with us when we travel back.”

“Of course, Ash. I’m guessing the chocolate is for her?”

“Yes,” Ash sighed, eyeing the one they’d laid on the table.

“Should I get the master all cleaned up?”

Ash crunched his nose. “Fuck, please don’t. Your domestic skills are awful.”

“Get one of the women to do it,” Isaiah instructed. “Not Larissa, though. Someone who can keep this quiet. Maybe we can find out what else she likes and we’ll send you a list.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

Once Ely hung up the phone, they waited for the time to pass by turning on the TV. They didn’t speak much, both still trying to figure out how they would get Vel to forgive them.

They hadn’t touched her physically but as they looked back on it, they’d tormented her in other ways. She’d done every pathetic little thing they’d demanded of her. Isaiah wasn’t even sure how it reached the point of her running away.
