I finally open my eyes again to find him still looking at me. “Logan, what are we doing?”

“We’re talking.”

I shake my head. “No. Us. Here. What’s this between us?”

I watch as he swallows before he speaks, “We’re doing whatever you want to be doing. I know this is uncharted territory, but I find myself wanting to be your person more and more.”

“You want to be my person?”

Logan nods. “Out in the open. In secret. Behind closed doors.” He shrugs. “Whatever you want it to be. I just know I don’t want to stay away from you.”

I lift myself up and launch myself into his arms. He catches me effortlessly as he falls back to his heels. I hold Logan tighter than ever before, and he does the same.

A wave of emotions rushes through me. Happiness mixed with fear, because there’s a chance this could end terribly.

There’s a chance I’m putting my heart on the line to be broken.

But it’s a chance I’m willing to take.

Emiline openedup to me and showed me what was going on in her head, which is all I’ve ever wanted.

She slightly pulls away from my embrace but keeps her arms wrapped around my neck.

“I feel like so much between us has been a secret,” she says. “I hate to make you keep this thing between us from everyone.”

I shake my head. “I’m okay with it if that’s what you want. I don’t want us rushing to tell everyone anything if we aren’t ready.”

She nods and continues to stare at me. I can tell by the look in her eyes she’s thinking about it.

Emiline opens her mouth to say something, but I cut her off. “I don’t want this to be overwhelming, so how about you get through this semester first? If by June, when you graduate, we both want to keep this up and tell your brothers about us, I’ll be there right next to you, holding your hand.”

This smile is real and genuine and because ofme.

“Now, let’s go home.”

I stand and outstretch my hand down to help lift her up. After that, I clean up the mitts while she removes her gloves and does the same. Just as we’re about to leave, she stops me.

“Logan,” she says from behind me. I turn around to face her. “Do you… want to come back to my place?”

I smirk in her direction before taking two steps toward her. “What did you have in mind?”

Emiline shrugs and walks past me, heading for the front door. “Well, Iwasgoing to catch up on my drama-filled TV show. It’s about this badass lawyer in Washington, DC who solves everyone’s problems. Oh, and she’s got a thing on the side with the president. It’s so good. You can join me.”

I bark out a laugh as I unlock the door and guide her outside before locking up behind me. “It’s cute you think we’re going to actually watch it.”

Her lips part and I walk us back to her place, silence stretching between us the entire walk there. There’s a tension in the air that neither of us wants to acknowledge.

As soon as she unlocks the door and crosses the threshold, I kick the door closed behind us and pin her against the back of the door. I cage her in with both hands and press my body into her, so she feels the effect she has on me.

“Logan,” she breathes out.

“I’ve wanted to kiss you again since I saw you in my sweatshirt,” I say against her lips. “Tell me, why didn’t you give it back?”

“Because.” She places two hands on my chest and pushes me away from her. She slowly reaches for the hem of my sweatshirt and lifts it over her head, tossing it on the floor beside her and leaving her only in her sports bra. “I was hoping at some point you’d get to see me take it off.”

A growl vibrates through my chest.

“Now you can kiss me,” she says.
