“Who is supplying Diamond with the drugs?”

I paused, pen poised above my paper. What an odd request.

I closed my eyes, leaning my head back against the wall, only opening them again when I knew I would meet his. “I doubt you’ll get a better deal if you find the source,” I stated indifferently, my eyes dropping to his neck.

“I’m not looking for a deal, Snowflake. Doyou have the information?”

Of course I did, what I had forgotten was the fact that he was into that stuff. Probably more so now that he was involved with Remi.

It was a good thing. I had done the stuff for fun when Charlie was still alive, only every once in a great while. I didn’t want to have those kind of people in my life in the long run, so this was good. If I could just keep my focus on that, eventually, my mind will constantly connect him with drugs, and I would shatter whatever thing inside of me that had decided to latch onto him.

I studied his throat for a moment before releasing a breath and shoving my things away. “Yup,” I said, pushing myself to a stand.

He stepped back, giving me the room to get around him. “Where are you going?”

“To the courtyard,” I answered, plowing ahead. “If you want information, you go to the source.” I opened the door at the end of the hall, without waiting for him to catch up.

He allowed me to walk ahead of him in silence.

Remi must have run out and he’s trying to get more for her. Go to the source to get a larger supply, which was shocking only because Cam usually had a decent stash in her car, ready to be sold throughout the day to the needy students in need of relief.

It didn’t matter. I would give him the answer he was looking for and get back to my writing. His reasons were his own, I didn’t care to know them.

I opened the door to the private courtyard and stepped through, instantly shivering at the soft whirls of breeze that flowed through it constantly.

I turned to him and gestured to Diamond’s private patio. “Come out here if you need more answers. He usually comes out here at 12:35. I’ve heard him meet with a few people, but mostly it’s a man by the name of Jyce. Yes, Jyce,” I said when he opened his mouth. “I know it’s a terrible name, his mom clearly hated him. He brings the shit to Diamond, Diamond supplies everyoneelse.”

He slid his hands into his pockets, that wool coat covering his satin red colored vest, gray shirt, and golden design covered black tie. His expression was hard, annoyed. As if I had done something to get on his nerves.

The audacity of him to feel something like that.

“How many professors are involved?”

His annoyance only made me that much angrier, especially because I had already given him that answer on the first day of classes. I was struggling to hold onto the cool disinterest as I shifted to one side. “Seven.” Was he looking to take over the game? Because if so, that would be a hard thing to do. Diamond meant business and Jyce sounded like a terrifying man.

Not that I cared. Rags claimed to be dangerous too, so I’m sure he could handle some drug dealers.

He watched the hedges for a long time before turning back to me. “Why are you angry?”

I narrowed my eyes to slits. “You’re reading it wrong, Rags. Have fun getting fucked.” I turned towards the door but before I could even pull my phone out, he wrapped his hand around my elbow and spun me around.

I fell back against the door, my breath catching, eyes widening, heart hammering as he stepped up to me, his eyes flaming, his other hand pressed against the wall next to my head.

Shit.

His grip softened as his eyes fell to my lips. He was so close that I had to crane my neck to meet his eyes, and he had to look down, his lips inches from mine. “You’re jealous,” he mumbled, his hot breath dusting my parted lips.

Fear coursed through me for a reason I fucking hated.

I didn’t want him kissing me. I couldn’t have him kissing me knowing that Remi had licked his lips, I couldn’t handle that.

I pressed myself into the door, swallowing. “Get off of me,” I said, my voice shaking.

“I’m using her,” he said.

I closed my eyes, turning my face away from him, my body trembling. “Get off, get off, get off,” I mumbled over and over again.

He released my arm and grabbed my jaw, gently forcing my head back around. “Open your eyes.”
