“Took you boys long enough,” Levi drawled. “Have a nice nap?”

A scowl from Jon. “I’m not in the mood, grunt.”

A chuckle was his reply.

Jackson slid a mike bag from his shoulder as he knelt at Emma’s side. “At least the effects of the gas didn’t last long.”

“And who woke from the gas all comfy in his bed?” Eli said, voice mild. “Jon and I weren’t so lucky.”

“Hey, you’re the one who decided to nap on the floor.” Jackson patted Emma’s hand. “Any injuries, Emma?”

“Thanks to David, no.”

The medic looked at David. “You good, frog boy?”

“Yeah.” He inclined his head toward the still-groaning Marty. “Keep him alive. I want him to have a nice, long stay behind bars.”

“Copy that.” He grabbed his bag and headed for the injured hunter.

“David!” Caleb jogged into the clearing with Rafe a step behind.

“We’re fine. Two more hunters are restrained in the woods.” He told his brother the approximate locations. “One of them is Phil Jones, the FBI agent.”

Caleb nodded. “Excellent. You found the mole. Rafe and I will round them up. Cal and Owen are at the ranch house with Gigi. She and Mrs. Grady are in the safe room. The hands set up a tight perimeter around the house.”

“Good. How did you get here so fast?”

His brother inclined his head toward Jon. “You can thank him. As soon as he regained consciousness, he accessed the security feeds at the safe house, identified Marty and Jerome, and pinged your phone which Marty and his partner left in their van. He called Rafe and we alerted the others. Once we knew where your phone was located, we began to converge on this general location.”

David rose. “Excellent work, all of you.”

“Who’s responsible for the Hunt Club?” Rafe said, his voice a fraction above a growl.

“Marty and Jerome. Jerome’s dead.”

“Good.” The operative fixed his gaze on Marty and stalked toward the injured hunter. “One more piece of garbage to take out.”

David stepped in front of him. “Rafe.”

“Out of my way, Montgomery.”

He understood the other man’s drive for vengeance. As much as David wanted to let the other SEAL have a few minutes with Marty, he couldn’t. They needed information from the game master. “Can’t let you do it, buddy. I’m sorry.”

“Look the other way.” His gaze locked onto David. “If he’d murdered Emma, would you uphold the letter of the law?”

“I’d like to think I would.” But he wasn’t sure. Hopefully, one of his brothers would have kept him from killing the man and ending up behind bars himself. “Don’t give him an excuse to send you to prison, Rafe. He’s not worth throwing your life away.”

“Avenging Callie would be worth every minute I spent behind bars,” Rafe whispered, hands fisting.

David laid his hand on the other man’s shoulder and squeezed. “She wouldn’t agree. Callie would want you to live your life in freedom. Go with Caleb and round up the other two hunters. You need to stay away from Marty.”

“David….”

“We don’t know if Marty and Jerome were the hunters who killed your girlfriend. We need your help to locate and capture more teams. Go. They’ll pay, Rafe. All of them.”

Rafe stared at him for a long moment before he gave a slight nod and left with Caleb.

After Rafe was out of earshot, Eli murmured, “Nice job, Sheriff. When do you want to call Jordan?”
